Hi there, I'm Ben, a PhD student at the University of Bristol, UK. I study palaeontology, with a thesis on both British Middle and Upper Jurassic ichthyosaurs and ichthyosaur phylogenetics and macroevolution, hopefully to be submitted by the end of 2014. I'm interested generally in Mesozoic marine reptiles, their taxonomy and systematics and how this is fundamental to investigating larger scale trends. My favourite formation is the Kimmeridge Clay Formation, and my favourite ichthyosaur is Shastasaurus sikkaniensis, because who doesn't like the largest marine fossil animal?
