Bennette Harris is Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a retired UNIX Engineer at Epic Systems Corporation in Verona Wisconsin.

Dr. Harris was born in 1954 in Charlottesville Virginia. He graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake Virginia in 1972, and from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a B.S. in Mathematics, in Honors, with Distinction, in 1976. He completed an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1978, and an Ed.D in the College Teaching of Mathematics from Oklahoma State University in 1982 under the direction of Marvin Keener. He married Susan Mohr of Madison Wisconsin in 1979. They have two children and two grandchildren.

Dr. Harris began his career at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1982, teaching in their prestigious Management Computer Systems program. He served as assistant to the dean of the Graduate School from 19i9 to 1991, and as Chair of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences from 2002--2008. He retired from the university in 2011, and joined the staff of Epic Systems Corporation as a UNIX Engineer. He retired from Epic in 2022.

His mathematical research focused on the oscillatory behavior of differential and difference equations. As a UNIX engineer he focused on automation solutions for managing large collections of virtual machines.
