Bion D. Howard is a Principal at Building Environmental Science & Tech. (B.E.S.T.), which provides customized technical assistance to the construction and development industry focused on the rapidly emerging “green building” -- energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and implementation of solar energy systems on residential and light-commercial buildings. Prior to entering private practice in 1996, Howard served with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) helping design EnergyStar (tm) programs for the buildings sector. He also served on the staff of non-profit and trade associations including the Alliance to Save Energy, and National Association of Home Builders, Washington, DC.

He holds two degrees in environmental science and systems analysis. He is a frequent invited speaker, and also delivers training programs for building design and construction professionals on "green building" design and technology.
