I am an Aussie living in the delightful city of Melbourne. I am interested in just about everything, which is why I spend far too much time on the web. My major passion, apart from friends & family, is music. Love everything from 70's punk to opera, but not country, trad Jazz, soul, MOR, & current hiphop/thrashmetal/loud bassystuff that people subject themselves to in clubs today. Qualified as a barrister & solicitor. Career has been mainly in health administration, health complaints & community work. Currently unemployed - caring for very ill partner. Love gardening, the bush. choral singing, reading, travel & fanatically adore pussycats. Am a socialist/social demoratic & supporter of British & Aussie "Old Labour politics". My legal training taught me to be detached & objective, so I try not to bring my personal beliefs into my posts. I'm a monarchist. I love true crime & murder mysteries. Also have a strong interest in theology. I'm a lifelong pacifist. Have worked as the manager of a left-wing community radio station (3CR). Favourite films are Butterfly Kiss, In My Father's Den & Heavenly Creatures. Lived in England for 2 years in licenced squats and loved it. Then backpacked through Latin America for 6 months. I'm ethnically Scottish on both sides & have a passion for all things Soottish. Would love to learn Scots Gaelic. I'm a quiet political activist - current passion is the recognition of Tibet as a sovereign state & a full boycott of the Beijing Games and all Chinese products. Also the liberation of Irian Jaya before the 50% Papuan population is exterminated.
