4905 Dufferin Street in Toronto Ontario is know as the Environment Canada building. The building is known for it's architecture houses some 800 employees from a variety of Environment Canada's Branches, including the Meteorological Service of Canada Branch, the Science and Technology Branch, the Chief Information Officer Branch, and the Canadian Wildlife Service. Notably, the Meteorological Service of Canada's (MSC) headquarters has been located at 4905 Dufferin St. for more then 35 years. The campus consists of the original main Environment Canada building, and the adjacent and attached Andrew Thomson Laboratories.

Originally, opened in 1972 the main building is a stark example of Brutalist architecture common to that era. The building was architected by Boignon & Armstrong[1], and sports a 33.5m tall Metal Sculpture by Ron Baird.[2]

Ron Baird Sculpture[edit]

Ron Baird build this sculpture for the Meteorological Services of Canada in 1971. It is constructed with Stelcoloy steel and measures 33.5m tall and 4.5m wide. Many parts of the sculptire structure move with the weather providing admirers with its melodies.[3].
