Annually, The Rocky Mountain Music Festival is produced for individuals who enjoy rock, country and blues music from national headliners and local musical groups and of course, the fantastic Colorado outdoors.
The Rocky Mountain Music Festival ('RMMF'), a trademark of The Rocky Mountain Music Festival LLC, is an annual outdoor family-oriented festival held in August at the Clement Park Amphitheater in Littleton, Colorado, produced by Red Stag Productions, LLC. www.thermmf.com
The inaugural Rocky Mountain Festival in 2011 was held at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. In 2012 the festival was moved to the cozy lawn-seating environment at Clement Park Amphitheater. The festival sees multiple musical stages and features both local Colorado bands and national headliners, and includes some of the best rock, country and blues bands around, in addition to many vendors and family activities. National headliner musicians have included Everclear, the BoDeans, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and the Desert Rose Band performing in 2011; The Charlie Daniels Band and Eddie Money performing in 2012; and country and pop superstar Leann Rimes will headline the 3rd annual event to be held on August 11, 2013.
Local Colorado bands that have performed include Funkiphino, Young Austin, Delta Sonics, Brothers of the Son, Katy Laurel Band, Will Rockit Band, and Wallace Hound to name just a few.
A new event this year leading up to the 2013 festival will be the Rocky Mountain Battle of the Bands -- a fantastic opportunity for local bands seeking recognition and competing for prizes including the coveted Rocky Mountain Whammy Bar trophy, and to be inducted into the “Hall of Wham!” This year, thirty-four (34) Colorado bands will compete in four (40 categories: Rock, Country, Blues and Acoustic, at local Colorado club venues, Buffalo Rose (Golden), Cowboy Lounge (Denver), Mercury Café (Denver) and Q’s Pub (Littleton). Round One of the competition will occur in June 2013 and bands will be judged on criteria to include: Music clarity, lyrical content, engaging the crowd, band personality, originality and creat8vity in lyrical and instrumental performance, love crowd applause and on-line fan voting. The winners in each category will also perform on the Main Stage at The Rocky Mountain Music Festival ahead of headliner LeAnn Rimes. Follow the competition at www.rmbob.com.
At Stage 2 this year will be the musical performances of the Denver School of Rock, ages 8-18 ‘up and coming’ musicians ….
In addition to the great musical entertainment, there will be plenty of vendors, food, arts and crafts and retail vendors, available for browsing and purchasing what strikes your fancy. For the young at heart and age, activities abound including outdoor play areas for children and other entertainment such as face painting, the ‘Eurobungy,’ a rock-climbing wall and the ‘Widow Maker,” are two of the activities available.
A portion of the proceeds of The Rocky Mountain Music Festival will help benefit the Family Resource Center Association of Colorado , a 501c3 non-profit.
