Diaper Changing Pillow

[edit]

A diaper changing pillow is a soft, flexible U-shaped device that comfortably restricts a baby’s hands from reaching its diaper area during changing. A diaper changing pillow, positioned above the baby’s stomach and below its armpits, gently restrains curious hands from getting soiled inadvertently, deterring the spread of germs and making diapering cleaner and more sanitary for baby and the changer. The diaper changing pillow is made of medium-density foam with an inner cover of waterproof vinyl fabric and a removable, machine-washable outer cover made of soft fleece. It comes with an elastic band that attaches to the pillow with a hook & loop fastener for a more secure fit on a changing table or mat, but it can also be used without one. By restricting a baby’s arm motion, diaper changing can be sanitary, efficient, and stress free.

History

[edit]

The diaper changing pillow is part of a developing collection of diapering restraining systems (changing table, changing mat, etc.). The ChangingBuddy™ diaper changing pillow, the only one designed specifically for small children, was developed in 2009 by MSK Productions. The 12-inch by 10-inch by 3-inch pillow is manufactured in Seattle, Wash.. U.S. patent is pending.
