Early Life and Education
Jaden Braves, born on August 25, 2008, is in Grade 11 in Toronto, Ontario. He joined the Canadian Green Party at 10 in 2019 after growing fears of environmental degradation.
Young Politicians of Canada
Jaden founded the Young Politicians of Canada to empower young Canadians in politics.[1] As CEO, he works to bring youth voice to democracy and raise political literacy across Canadians youth. He created the National Youth Roundtable on Legislation which advises MPs on laws for future generations, ensuring youth perspectives are included. They also run a federal placement program that brings young Canadians into the political sphere.
Top 10 Under 18
In 2024, Jaden was named one of the top 10 Canadians under 18 by Children First Canada, KPMG, and the federal government, recognizing his political activism and leadership.[2]
Legacy and Impact
Jaden Braves has set a precedent for youth involvement voice across Canada.[3] His work with the Young Politicians of Canada and YATA-NATO Canada, where he serves as an Honorary Executive inspires young Canadians in political advocacy.[4] His leadership in the Young Greens and the Canadian Green Party shows his dedication to sustainability and progressive policies. Braves was elected Co-Chair of the Young Greens of Canada in 2023 after years of environmental advocacy and continues to serve today. [5] He continues to be an advisor to a number of democratic organizations across Canada and works to establish youth voice within their operations.
