Minus Ted is a New York City based music ensemble co-founded in 1993 by the actor/musicians Skipp Sudduth and Brian O'Neill. Their compositions are acoustic guitar driven, with an emphasis on melody, harmony and lyrical content. The core members include singer/songwriters Skipp Sudduth and Brian O'Neill, along with Columbia University Professor of Electronic Composition and guitarist/mandolinist Terry Pender and renowned percussionist Tom McGrath. Other contributing artists over the years have included accordionist Radoslov Lorkovic, mouth-harpist Paul T. Casson, cellist Stephanie Winters, pianist Jeff Klitz, actress and vocalist Kathryn Erbe, guitarist John Salvaggio, fiddler Jennifer Carnahan, singer/songwriter Lori Fischer and bassist/engineer Eugene LaVenue. They have recorded two albums of original music, Hope & Damage (1994) and a live album Really, Really (1999). Hope & Damage was re-issued in 2001 as Hope & Damage Revisited, with additional material and a re-mix of older songs. Additionally, Mr. O'Neill has recorded an album of solo material, Free World (2010) that features core members Skipp Sudduth and Tom McGrath as well as fellow musicians Thor Fields and Rolado Gori, and singers Heidi Siegel and Tracy Sallows.
