UBC Okanagan Food Service
[edit]UBC Okanagan Food Service UBC Okanagan has reached a size that makes a self-operated food service business model viable and better-suited to the campus. UBCO Food Services will be operated by UBC Student Housing & Hospitality Services (SHHS). SHHS provides housing at UBC’s Okanagan and Vancouver campuses, and operates one of the largest and most complex food service programs in Canada at UBC Vancouver. UBC Okanagan is in a unique position to replicate the UBCV model and leverage UBCV’s strengths and resources to deliver a unique, world-class UBC Okanagan food service program. UBCO Food Services’ portfolio consists of 11 campus locations – a mix of franchises and in-house brands. Franchises will remain the same. All in-house brands will offer new and enhanced menu items, new or refreshed brands, and improved customer service.[1]

All-Access Meal Plan
[edit]Coinciding with the opening of the new residence dining hall in Nechako, this all-you-care-to-eat meal plan allows students unlimited entries per day to eat what they want, without worrying about cost.
The meal plan is mandatory for students in Cassiar, Nicola, Purcell, Kalamalka, Valhalla, Skeena, Similkameen Place and Nechako residences.[2]
Students swipe their card upon entering the Nechako Dining Hall (more about Nechako here) and have unlimited access to the dining hall, with no restrictions on how often they enter, or what they eat. Students can also use the Flex Dollars portion of their meal plan to make purchases at Nechako’s convenience store, other food service locations on campus, as well as our off-campus partners!
