Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk (Urdu:یوسف خشک; born 1968) is a renowned academician, researcher and a highly reputed administrator who is recognized for his dedication, commitment and professional integrity. Hailing from a small village Bhanbhan, Bhan Saeedabad, Tahseel Sehwan Sharif District Jamshoro; Dr. Yousuf Khushk completed his primary education from his native village, Secondary education from Bhan Saeedabad, Intermediate from Model College Hyderabad and Masters in Urdu from University of Sindh Jamshoro in 1989. In 2002, he was awarded the degree of Ph.D in Urdu from Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur for his scholarly thesis “Literary relations between Urdu Sindhi”. He is the first Pakistani Scholar in the field of Urdu to complete Post Doctorate. He achieved this distinction in 2007 from Heidelberg Germany by presenting his scholarly output on very effective research topic “Efforts of the German Scholars regarding Urdu Language and Literature up to 2006-07”.

After joining Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in 1992 as the Lecturer in Urdu, the academic, administrative, research and professional growth of Dr. Khushk finds no match among his contemporaries. He headed the Department of Urdu to initiate BS (4 Years) program in Urdu for the first time in Pakistan and then pioneered Research Journal ALMAS, now the only “X” category research journal in Urdu. He also headed the faculty of Social Sciences at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur as a Dean and then as the Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages he strengthened his faculty with publication of 09 research journals out of which 08 were initiated by him, which is itself a record in Pakistan. He also introduced the Diploma in Chinese Language and finalized syllabus for the Department of Fine Arts at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Since April 2018, Dr. Khushk has been serving Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur as the Pro-Vice Chancellor. During his tenure as a Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Khushk introduced numerous academic and administrative reforms including reforms in Examination Branch and online fees deposit system which benefitted the university in boosting its financial resources. He has been awarded with numerous awards, shields and appreciation letters from Government as well as other organizations. His International exposure finds him close contacts in all the parts of the world where Urdu is academically taught. He has successfully organized many national and International conferences at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khaiprur. This International exposure has benefitted a large number of National Scholars in general and students of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in particular. His research publications exceed 77.
