FranklinSquires Companies, LLC is a private venture capital and consulting firm located in Provo, Utah. Founded in 2004 by Claud "Rick" Koerber and six partners, FranklinSquires was established to build businesses based on Koerber’s 13 Principles of Prosperity.[1].

History

[edit]

The first venture of FranklinSquires Companies was the FranklinSquires Institute, a school where students learned principle-based creative real estate investing in regional one day and three day seminars.[2] The Institute later became an Internet-based distance learning institution.

Working with the Institute to refine its real estate program, FranklinSquires established propriety technology knows as the Equity Mill—a concept encompassing buying single family residential real estate and then selling it through cash, seller finance or a lease option using "property management" companies and retail investors.[3] In order to grow the Equity Mill, FranklinSquires built several more businesses—including a real estate brokerage, a real estate acquisition company and a wholesale liquidation company. [4]

Branching out from real estate, FranklinSquires began to build civic, financial and educational businesses. In addition, it acquired the communication company VIP Media, the fast-food chain restaurant Iceberg Drive-Inn, the full production movie company Main Street Movie Group and Engenuity, a financial services company. In 2006, FranklinSquires and its portfolio companies generated over $500 million in annual revenues. [5]
