SUZANE CARVALHO

Having been born to a family of artists, Suzane followed the steps of her mother, Lia Farrel, and of her sister Simone Carvalho and started to work as a publicity model when she was just two years old.
After having done approximately two hundred and fifty commercials, she made her debut as a play actress when she was 13, as a movie actress when she was 14, and as a TV actress when she was 18. Participated in all kinds of productions: comedies, musicals and dramas. She also was the producer of two plays.

Her great dream was to be a race driver, but she had no idea of how to start until July, 1989, when she read an ad by a Kart Driving School in a newspaper.
So she started as a Kart racer and became THE BRAZILIAN CHAMPION (1989) and RIO DE JANEIRO CHAMPION (1990), SILVER CUP WINNER (1990) AND THE RIO DE JANEIRO CUPS RUNNER-UP (1990), GOLD CUP (1990) AND RIO DE JANEIRO SUMMER TOURNAMENT (1995). Passed through Formula 1600, Formula Ford, Canadian Formula 2000, and Italian Formula 2000.

She attended two race driving schools - it's essential for anyone who wants to be part of the racing world - (ALPIE in São Paulo and SPENÀRD-DAVID in Canada) and participated in the South American Formula 3, the most important category in the Latin-American race driving activities.
In 1992 she raced her first complete championship and participated in Category B of Formula 3, winning the title of BRAZILIAN CHAMPION and SOUTH-AMERICAN CHAMPION.

It was the first time in the world race driving history that a woman won a Formula 3 - an international Formula raced all over the world - and as a consequence she was listed in GUINESS BOOK and in the BRITISH ENCYCLOPEDIA (BARSA EDITION).
She participated in the Brazilian Thousand Miles race with a Stock Car in 1993 finishing third. In 1994 she again got the 3rd position racing a VW Prototype. In 1996 organized the first women's team that ever raced the Thousand Miles; however, they had to abandon the race when they were in the 4th position after 8 hours of racing, due to problems in their Aldee. In 1997 she was 6th, racing in a women's double.

In 1995 she raced in the Argentinean Championship called "Damas Cup" with a Nissan-Sentra winning three times and geting up to the winner's stand several times, and was proclaimed the "Hors Concours Champion" as she did not have the necessary permit to be rated at that championship.
In 1996 she traveled throughout Brazil and Argentina racing several Tourism and Kart categories. SheI won two victories in the 4 Stages of the Carioca Tourism Championship that participated in.

In 1997 raced again a full championship: the Rio de Janeiro Tourism Championship, always disputing the first place an being the "poleposition" between 34 drivers. Many times was "kicked" outside the track, and finished the Championship in the 4th place. Did 6 races on the South American Formula 3 Championship, and I raced some stages in the Rio de Janeiro Kart Championship.
In 1998, went to England and raced 4 rounds of Formula Palmer Audi and 7 rounds on the Vectra Challenge Championship.

In 1999, Suzane did 5 races on the Panamerican Indy Lights Championship. It is a almost 500 horse power car, with only 650 Kg (1430 lb)! So, she have got de UOL sponsorship to race half season on the ILP 2000 Championship. The majority of the races were on Mexico, and she raced also on Pikes Peak oval track, situated at Colorado Springs, United States. It was her first time driving in a oval and she loved it! She said: "Is being so good to control this "bull!"!
In 2001 and 2002 raced some go-karting and Tourism races like Clio Cup.

In 2003 realizes an other her dream building her DRIVER'S TRAINING CENTER where she teach and train new drivers to go-karting, Formula, Tourism and Prototype cars, and also Safety Driving. She has a Go-Karting Team too.

She has been inveted of some teams to race Formula One Championship and Indy Cars, but not was able to get the sporsonship to race the top categories.

Wrote the book "DRIVING and SETTING A KARTING", the first one in portuguese language and the most complete on the world, where she talk about how to drive an set a go-kart, sports marketing, nutrition and fisician training.
