ZenDay
ZenDay is the name of a time management and productivity application that supports Android smartphones and tablets. The application was developed on the premise that individuals are personally motivated by achieving goals they set for themselves, and that the way to meet those goals is through greater organization of time and tasks in a single system.
The ZenDay system records events (meetings, appointments, etc) and to-do items into a single, three-dimensional scrolling calendar. Its interface shows events and tasks on the person's phone or tablet from the bottom of the screen to the top, giving a sense of moving forward as if on a path. The design is inspired from navigational driving applications, which is how the team coined ZenDay as "a GPS for your time."
ZenDay is the creation of Mobisysteme, a French-based startup. CEO and co-founder Richard Phan, an engineer by training, spent nearly ten years working for several Silicon Valley companies in IT and mobile technologies. Philippe Lebeau is a veteran communications leader and entrepreneur in sports marketing. Bruno Dal Palu, a PhD in Psychoanalysis, has conducted extensive research on time management, motivation and collective intelligence. His research largely inspired the product's design.
The company was formed in 2010 and is financed through several regional investment firms in France, as well as through private investors. In 2013, the company was invited to participate in Blackbox Connect, a Google- sponsored incubator based in Silicon Valley and designed to aid global startup ventures.
ZenDay will support additional operating systems, including iOS, beginning in 2014.
