Article Evaluation: Visual Communications (2.2.2019)[edit]

  • Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Everything in the article was very relevant to the topic and it went thoroughly went through the details of visual communications. Is there anything that distracted you? No
  • Is any information out of date? No Is anything missing that could be added? more visual representations such as pictures of people who are being named.

  • In the talk page it has not been very active recently, and there are many things being said about the article needing reliable resources. The article needs verification of the citations being used.

In Vitro Fertilisation Over Age 40

All pregnancies can be risky, but there are greater risk for women who are older and are over the age of 40. The older the women the riskier the pregnancy. As women get older, they are more likely to suffer from conditions such as gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. If older women do conceive over the age of 40, their offspring may be of lower birth weight, and more likely to requires intensive care. Because of this, the increased risk is a sufficient cause for concern. The high incidence of caesarean in older mothers is commonly regarded as a risk.

Though there are some risk with older women pregnancies, there are some benefits associated with caesareans. A study has shown that births over 40 have a lower rate of birth trauma due to increased delivery by caesarean. Though caesarean is seen to benefit mothers over 40, there are still many risk factors to consider. Caesarean section may be a risk in the same way that gestational diabetes is.

Women conceiving at 40 have a greater risk of gestational hypertension and premature birth. The offspring is at risk when being born from older mothers, and the risks associated with being conceived through IVF.

Peer Review (4.01.2019)[edit]

Overall your edits are structured and relatable to your topic. Looking at the lead I do feel satisfied that it relates to the importance of your topic. Your topic is already organized, but I would suggest to make a heading for influencers, impact, or somewhere along those lines to place Emile Durkheim and Peter Kroptkin together in one section, while keeping them chronologically in order. It seems that your edits mainly focus on the lead, which I think is very important to edit since it is the opening. A section to may consider adding would be "Ethics" I think that could help enhance the subject.

Peer Review Response[edit]

Thank you for the feedback! I didnt save my sandbox properly and apologize for that mistake. Expanding on Durkheim makes complete sense as we have also discussed their ideas in class. The heading for the influencers will definitely help organize the page more effectively.[edit]

Peer Review Response to Solidarity[edit]

Thank you for your feedback! Looking through the article again I do notice that the information is a little out dated. I will try to find more articles and information that is a little more recent. I also considered in adding maybe example cases that are significant.

Final Article (5.1.2019)[edit]

Along with the additions from 4.24.2019 I have added to the Ethics section of 'Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis or Screening' - These examples raise ethical issues because of the morality of eugenics. It becomes frowned upon because of the advantage of being able to eliminate unwanted traits and selecting desired traits. By using preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) or preimplantation genetic screening, individuals are given the opportunity to create a human life unethically and rely on science and not by natural selection. Also added the image of normal vaginal canal vs. menopause.
