Cole Thornhart and Starr Manning are fictional characters and a popular couple from the American soap opera One Life to Live. Kristen Alderson, a veteran of the soap has portrayed Starr Manning since 1996, while Brandon Buddy portrayed Cole Thornhart from 2006 until the character was written off in 2010. The pair's original coupling was highlighted by the fact of their parents, Todd Manning (Trevor St. John) and Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell)'s volatile history, and their sharing of a deceased half brother by their other parents Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) and Patrick Thornhart (Thorsten Kaye). They are often referred to by the portmanteau "Sole" (for Starr and Cole).

The typical all-around high school jock, Cole became Starr's first love. The couple's plots have included the themes of kidnapping, violence, drug abuse, and teenage pregnancy, the latter through the introduction of the their only child, Hope Manning-Thornhart. The couple's five year run came to an end in 2010 as a result of the aftermath of mentally insane interloper Hannah O'Connor (Meaghan Fahy), which concluded in Cole's prison sentence and Starr's new pairing with James Ford (Nic Robuck). The center of the show's teen scene in the late 2000s, the pairing was received with popularity, but was one the decline around the time of Cole's controversial, brutal beating of Todd Manning in early 2010.
