Article Selection[edit]

Brazos River

Within the article focused on the Brazos River, I would review the quality of writing used throughout the page and would add content where needed. I would also correct some of the numbers, for example the exact length of the Brazos compared to the Colorado.

American Speech–Language–Hearing Association

In this article, I would add more on the overall goal and morals of ASHA and what their aim is. I would also go into more detail on how ASHA affects pathologists and their patients.

Women in ancient Sparta

In this article, I would change the casing of the title, and would edit the overall quality of the text in wording and phrasing. I would also try to find more material on their adulthood and how they were viewed socially in society.

Brainstorming[edit]

The Possum Kingdom Dam (1940) and the Whitney Dam (1953) on the upper Brazos provide hydroelectric power, flood control, and irrigation for the cotton grown in the Brazos River valley.

The Possum Kingdom Dam and the Whitney Dam, located on the upper Brazos, provide hydroelectric power, flood control, and irrigation to enable efficient cotton growth in the river valley.

Texans declared their independence from Mexico in 1836 at the settlement of Washington-on-the-Brazos. The original Spanish name for the river was Brazos de Dios (“Arms of God”); it is likely the river that the French explorer La Salle called the Maligne, and it was near the Brazos that La Salle was murdered.

In 1822, the lower river valley became one of the major Anglo-American settlement sites in Texas. This was one of the first English-speaking colonies along the Brazos and was founded by Stephen F. Austin at San Felipe de Austin. [1] In 1836, Texas declared independence from Mexico at Washington-on-the-Brazos, a settlement in now Washington County that is known as "the birthplace of Texas".
