[edit]"Christopher Thomas Belmonte" (born June 4th, 2008) is a American folkstyle, freestyle, and greco roman wrestler. Belmonte has won the (2022 NHSCA Champion, Middle School division 230 weight Class), 2023 NHSCA Finalist (285 freshmen), USA Wrestling Preseason national finalist 285 2022, Section 3 Champion. Class A Champion, NYS qualifier, 2024 4th at Eastern States, 2x OTC Finalist, and also in 22-23 number 1 hwt in the country for 16 and under. Belmonte in greco has the silver title at the (USA wrestling Northeast regional) in 2022 and freestyle won the bronze medal that year also at the same tournament. In 2022 the phenom went to Indianapolis and wrestled freestyle and greco with the New York team and went 18-0 (9-0 in freestyle and 9-0 in greco). Only 20 wrestlers in the country went undefeated and earn a spot on the All-Tournament team(s) in both international styles.
High School Career
[edit]Belmonte is still a sophomore in high school at New Hartford High School. But his first year he went 20-10 as an 8th grader most of his tournament he placed top 3. At the section qualifier he placed 3rd which earned a spot to wrestle at the section tournament. Chris did not do his best a sectionals that year going 0-2. Losing some really tuff matches that day. But Belmonte moved to Florida over the summer and wrestled at Lake Highland Prep School. He came back in the middle of the wrestling season that year as a 9th grader as going 29-2 that year. 22-23 year Belmonte won every single tournament that year. He had won the Class A title and also the section 3 title as both 285! This year as a sophomore Chris is 23-0 already this year and we just hit the half mark this season already. He is ranked #2 in the state right now in big school.
Home Life
[edit]Christopher was born on June 4th, 2008, in New Hartford, New York. His parents are Joseph and Nicole Belmonte, They own the Family Fun Factory in the New Hartford Shopping Center. The family has owned it for over 10 years and still going. Belmonte started wrestling when we was 4 years old with Team Proper-ly Trained and coach Cory Proper.
