Ceilon Aspensen is a doctoral candidate in American Studies at Montana State University, currently writing her dissertation on contemporary American Indian Art. She has written numerous articles on indigenous art, museum practices, and American studies, all of which are available on Academia.edu. She began editing Wikipedia articles on May 24, 2018 when she discovered that the page dedicated to the Jack Dempsey vs. Tommy Gibbons fight in Shelby, Montana "has multiple issues" due to lack of verifiable sources and citations, as well as the article being written as a personal reflection. Living and teaching in Shelby, Montana, she was motivated to make sure that this important event in our town's history is accurately represented, and she began entering external links to historical information about the event (and will continue to convert those links to the style manual citation format for Wikipedia as time allows, as well as editing the article using said sources for documentation).

With a PhD in American Studies in her near future, Ceilon anticipates doing more article edits and probably initiating articles on topics specifically relevant to her field of study and other areas of interest. Being new to Wikipedia editing, she hopes that the community of editors will be patient as she learns all the proper procedures and formatting norms.
