From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, and welcome to my FAQ (set of not-so frequently asked questions)! Please request new questions to be added on the talkpage...

Is this FAQ useful?

[edit]

No, not in the slightest. Sorry.

Why do you edit Wikipedia?

[edit]

Now this one's easy: addiction, pure and simple. I don't think I could ever leave, even if I wanted to. It's part of my daily routine, my friendship network and my life. I love it.

On a more philosophical basis, I go along with the view that says that this website shouldn't work. It shouldn't. On paper or in theory, the idea that an encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone, with or without qualificiations, references, etc. would work is preposterous. But, in practice, it does. You can see this from what's here. I want to be part of this exciting prospect.

You say you have friends on here: who are they?

Please see the relevant section on my userpage.

Are you Inclusionist or Deletionist?

[edit]

Well, as my userpage states, I'm an inclusionist. Wikipedia is not paper, we have plenty opf space for everything. Notability is a bit of a non-issue for me (in borderline cases).

On the other hand, I feel strongly about the quality of articles. I'll almost let anything stay here if it's well-written. However, if it's not, I'd rather it was deleted, no matter how important the subject matter might be.

Hey! You deleted the my article!

[edit]

First of all, it isn't your article. It belongs to the encyclopedia. Secondly, I probably deleted it because it was rubbish, it fitted one of these criteria or was nominated for deletion and decided that it was best deleted. Please check those places for reasoning and do continue to contribute, but follow our policies next time, eh? :).

If you went on Mastermind, what would your specialist subject be?

[edit]

Ooh, that's a toughie. I think I'd most likely go for A Series of Unfortunate Events — I love the series, and think I know plenty about it.

Can I be an Admin?

[edit]

Yes.

Hey! That wasn't a very long answer! Tell me more!

[edit]

Well, of course you can be an Admin eventually, if you show the right commitment to the project and fit the right numerical standards (yes, the ones I hate to exist): 5-6 months of editing, 80%+ edit summaries and 2000+ edits. Please don't ask me to nominate you though, unless I know you really well. You could always self-nom...
