Today Daytona Motorsports Group owns and manages the AMA Supersport Championship holding between 9-12 races a year which determines an overall points champion at the end of the season. Each race is a 40 mile sprint to the finish. Motorcycles manufactured that are approved to race in the supersport class are as follows: Yamaha YZF-R6, Suzuki GSX-R600, Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, and the Buell 1125-R. These motorcycles reach top speeds in excess of 160 miles per hour. The minimum weight limit for each bike is anywhere from 365-385 pounds.
