The Christiana Care Health System is private, non-profit system of two hospitals and several additional health-care facilities serving the state of Delaware in the United States.[citation needed]
Christiana Hospital
[edit]Christiana Hospital is a 780-bed facility located in Newark, Delaware.[1] The hospital is a level I trauma center, coordinates a regional cancer treatment program, conducts more than 1,000 open heart surgical procedures annually, and is the birthplace of more than 7,000 children annually.[1] In January 2007, the hospital opened the first adult kidney transplant center in Delaware.[2]
