Reverting is undoing one or more changes to put an article back in its old state.

You must be familiar with the Three-Revert Rule (3RR). Remember though that this rule does not entitle users to three reverts per 24 hours, you can still be blocked for this. Rather, it is instituted as an electric fence against those who do too many of them in a 24-hour period.

Reverting is very useful against vandalism though. If you caught some vandalism, you can consider reverting it back to a vandal-free copy. This does not count against the 3RR. Even if you happen to do 10 reverts on a single article within 24 hours, if they were all because of vandalism, you will not be legitimately blocked.

To revert an article, click on the History tab, click on the date you want to revert back to, edit the page and save it. Shouldn't do it on pages within this user space unless vandalized.
