Charley Burch (www.charleyburch.org) is an American Music Producer, Realtor and Music Industry Veteran born Charles Cowden Burch March 12th, 1968 (Adar 12, 5728) in Memphis, Tennessee. His Father Charlie Cowden Burch (Civil Rights Attorney, Criminal Lawyer and Multi-Term State of Tennessee Representative)was Born in May 3rd, 1928 (Iyar 13, 5688) in Chicago, IL and died in May 17th, 1979 (Yahrzeit 20th of Iyar)in Memphis, TN. His Mother Wanda Burch, maiden name Campe (Educator, PHD and Real Estate Agent, GRI / Owner), was born June 22nd, 1928 (Tammuz 4, 5688) in Sweetwater, TN and still Lives in Memphis, Tennessee. Charley Burch has a son Zachary Cowden Burch who was born on May 5th, 2005 (Nissan 26, 5765) in Fort Lauderdale, FL and lives in Aventura, FL with his mother Anita.
A Burch Family Member has held a Local, State or Federal Elected Office in The State of Tennessee since the 19th Century. In recent history, The Burch Family represented and defended The 1968 Garbage Workers and their Strike in Memphis. Charley’s father (Charlie Burch of blessed memory) was a 3 term State of Tennessee Representative, Law Professor, Public Defender, Criminal and Civil Rights Trial Attorney. His cousin Hill McAllister was elected Governor of Tennessee in 1934. Charley's Third Great Grandfather John C. Burch was Speaker of The Tennessee State Senate in 1859 and Secretary of The United States Senate in 1873.
Charley Burch is a lifelong Memphian who has been employed as a professional in the entertainment industry for nearly 30 years, in various capacities, including as a club owner/operator, boxing judge/promoter, record producer, tour manager, and in artist/event management and promotion. As an artist manager and/or promoter, he has booked numerous major pop and blues artists, and his artists have toured throughout Europe, East Asia, as well as North America. As an award winning record producer, Burch has been producing or co-producing records since 2003. Credited Producer on 2010 BMA Traditional Blues Album of The Year.
He is The Vice Chairman of The Memphis and Shelby Music Commission and previous Treasurer of this body. He is a Governor on The Memphis Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Board (2011-2013) and a voting member of NARAS (The Grammy’s) and The Blues Foundation. Burch is an ASCAP Writer and Publisher. He has promoted and produced hundreds of concerts from 100-person venues to 10,000-plus seat venues and festivals. He has been deeply involved with the Delta Blues community in recent years opening and owning blues-related businesses in the Delta (Bluesberry Bakery Café and neighboring R&B Club), while consulting numerous business people, historians, writers, enthusiasts, blues masters and developing artists of the genre. Burch has experience in form law, commercial printing, advertising marketing, promotions, development, management and production in politics, music, video, television, film and stage.
