Carlos E. Moreno Romero, aka Charlie Moreno-Romero was born in Bogotá, Colombia, on July 15th 1977). He holds a bachelor in philology (National University of Colombia, 2005), a master in social and cultural anthropology (Tallinn University, 2009) and a PhD (Cum Laude) in education (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, 2018). His research expertise is related to sauna culture in Estonia, integration narratives in Estonian schools from an ethnographic perspective (MA thesis), and unschooling processes in democratic schools in regards to the dimensions of social justice: redistribution, recognition and participation. His professional expertise includes Colombian, Estonian and Spanish schools and universities, where he has taught English, Spanish and Italian as second languages, and history, anthropology and Theory of Knowledge at the International Baccalaureate Organization. Furthermore, he has trained teachers in citizenship education and inclusion. Currently, he works as a training manager for Teach for All Estonia (Noored Kooli) and history and geography teacher at the International School of Tallinn.
