Coldest Fall are an Turkish Alternative Rock band formed in Izmir in 2009. The group comprises Can Özbay (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards, lyricist), Osman Yaldız (bass guitar), Serkan Sandıkkaya (lead guitar, and other instruments when necessary), Erim Doğay (backing vocals, lyricist).

Formation[edit]
Can Özbay and Osman Yaldız met one another at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts. The pair started planning a band on March 2009, and started recording their first single "Ursa Major" on June. After a well spent, creative summer in their own studio, group recorded their first EP named : Purple Sky. Album was too short to be qualified as a LP. So the pair started thinking about how to improve the band. Soon, Erim Doğay, a friend of Can Özbay from junior school (Buyuk College) joined the group on August. Finally on September Serkan Sandıkkaya a classmate of Can Özbay and Osman Yaldız joined the group.
Quartet immediately started composing, and developed "Purple Sky" in two months. On November, group released its first 50 copies of the "Purple Sky" LP.
Purple Sky[edit]
While recording the album, band had to stay overnight so many times. One morning, Can Özbay and Osman Yaldız saw a beautiful purple sky, and decided to name the album "Purple Sky". After a summer full of purple skies, and bright stars, group decided to give star constellation names to their songs. All the constellations are based nearby the constellation named "Coma Berenices".
On its first week of online release, album become the most listened album of the week on ReverbNation's Turkey charts, and shot to number 3 on Izmir's Top Most Listened Rock Album on ReverbNation in 2 days after its release, placed Coldest Fall into the Most Listened 100 Bands in Turkey (in all genres), and in national consciousness.
