I am ChocolateTrain, and I have been an editor on Wikipedia since the 16th of April 2017. Since then, I have edited with varying frequency, with periods of high activity, as well as some rather extended WikiBreaks. As of the 27th of February 2020, I have amassed a total of over 5,500 edits (including article, category, template, talk and user namespaces). I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing properly, and as such, investing only a half-hearted effort in a task is not something I aspire to. This is a standard that I endeavour to maintain in life, and indeed here on Wikipedia. In that regard, I often spend a long time on my edits, as I like to ensure that everything I contribute is of the highest quality I can reasonably produce. I suppose you could say I am something of a perfectionist! I would like to think that I am a logical and reasonable person, and that any decisions I make are based upon reason rather than emotion or whim (I'm certainly not emotionless, though!). I like to help people wherever possible, so if you ever feel that there is something I might be able to assist with, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm always happy just to have a chat if you'd like, too.
I have always loved learning, regardless of the topic, and I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Science has long been my passion, and I am always aiming to further my knowledge and understanding in that area. I studied chemistry, physics and earth science as three of my subjects in my senior years of secondary education, and I am currently furthering my education in mathematics and science at university. Geography is another interest of mine, especially the geography of Australia. Of particular interest to me is the field of meteorology, and tropical cyclones especially. It is a field of study that is a perfect blend of science and geography, which is perhaps one reason it appeals to me so much. I have been fascinated by the weather ever since I was a young child, and my love of meteorology has grown ever since. I enjoy staying up-to-date with all of the tropical cyclones around the world, and with local weather across Australia. I hope to eventually work at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology when I have finished my tertiary education.
I was born in Australia, and have lived here for my whole life. I reside in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, which is the country's second-largest state by area (about 6% smaller than Mexico, for comparison). It is a vibrant, multicultural city with wonderful public spaces and a beautiful skyline, with the bonus of a great subtropical climate—I much prefer warm weather over the cold! I truly love Australia, and I consider myself very privileged to be able to call such a wonderful country home. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the land down-under, make sure not to pass it by. You will certainly not be disappointed.
Hopefully this autobiographical letter of sorts gives you some idea as to who I am and what I am like. I hope to be able to work collaboratively with you in the future to continue to improve and expand the wonderful free knowledge resource that is Wikipedia.
I am a stickler for accuracy in spelling, grammar and punctuation, and I also appreciate consistency in writing and formatting. I believe I have a good eye for identifying mistakes in these areas and for recognising spots where improvements to readability or formatting could be made. I am happy to proofread any article that you have been writing to check for these things. Of course, if you notice I've made a mistake like this somewhere in one of my edits, please let me know!
