General Information

[edit]

Greetings!

My name is Dale and I'm a PhD student at UC Berkeley currently completing my fourth year. I study Ancient Near Eastern Religions and my dissertation topic will likely be on the theme of the transformative journey in the Pentateuch.

I'm interested in the following modern languages, which I can read fairly proficiently: German, French, Hebrew and of course, English.

I'm interested in the following ancient languages, which I can also read pretty well: Biblical Hebrew, Greek (Attic and Koine), Syriac and various other Aramaic dialects.

My first career was in finance and accounting which I left after 18 years. Most of my time was spent working in public accounting, but I also had some stints in private industry. I hope to teach at a public university when I complete my degree.

I'm VERY new to the world of Wikipedia editing, so I'm still learning the ropes. Interesting!
