Christopher Aldo Arce (Chris) (born August 24, 1983) and is the Bass player for the progressive metal band Fade and a frequent session musician for other music acts.



Early Life

Christopher Aldo Arce was born and raised in El Paso, TX. His father Arturo Arce is former front man for El Paso's own Airway, his mother is Julie Limon Flores.He has a younger sister Leanna Daniel Arce and an older brother Arturo Arce Jr., who is a local artist/painter.

At age 10 Chris began his musical career playing cello with his elementry school band, by age 12 he began playing bass which was given to him as a Christmas gift from his father. Continuing his education in music he played with both the marching and jazz band as well as orchestra in high school. After graduating in 2001 Christopher enlisted into the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he played for the local band Illusive in Clovis.

In 2004 Chris moved back to El Paso and met up with Mike T, a local acoustic talent, days after meeting, Christopher was playing guitar with him at a few shows. A few months later Chris was invited to play guitar for a local cover band in which Mike T was singing for. The drummer for the band was Oscar "OJ" Hernandez which talked to chris about his band known as Fade and lack of a bass player. Chris auditioned for the band in june of 2005 and they immediatly began playing as many shows as possible.

Chris uses a Fender Pressision bass 4 string, a Fender Jazz 5-String and pushes his sound through a Peavey Mark VI. He uses a few tecniques which he picked up over the years while studing "the greats" as he says, (Flea, Justin Chancellor, Victor Wooten, Jaco pastorius). His techniques inclued Slap, his finger plucking is right above the 20th fret giving a unique metal slapping which is his signiture sound. His is also a lead bass player playing on and around the 12th fret.
