My academic background includes most prominently study of English literature, writing, classical Latin, and ancient Greek. Post-academy, I have been, among other things, a research publications editor working mainly in the fields of Bioengineering and Sociology, and a journalist writing about the outdoors, travel, and consumer medicine. Presently, my sociolinguistic research primarily concerns the origins and uses of slang.
