Most of us can see Wikipedia is slowly becoming more helpful as a way to snag a very quick and more or less ok start on a topic. For content-targeted editors like me, who think truth (or its cutting edge) isn't another word for consensus, so long as Wikipedia's leadership keeps yielding more sway to its MUD side than to scholarship, giving of my time to more than a handful of articles isn't worth the burn, so to speak. Meanwhile the wiki software is indeed amazing and as wonted, folks seem to have far more hang ups handling wonderful craft than building it.
