Christina Lanzl, Ph.D., is an author, scholar, educator and practitioner synthesizing the fields of art, culture, architecture, community and public places. Her profound immersion in the fields of public art, architecture and culture have led to a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationships and correlations that exist between them. Her professional practice and research particularly focus on creative placemaking and kinetics, resulting in several books and numerous essays on the arts and culture. She is a sought-after presenter to professional and academic audiences. Trained in the U.S. and in Germany, she holds degrees in art history (Ph.D. with concentration in public and community arts, University of Munich; M.A., Boston University), and information management (Diploma, Stuttgart Media University). Lanzl is the recipient of a 2017 Businesswoman Award from CV Magazine for Best Woman-Run Arts & Culture Initiative 2017 in the Northeastern United States, and her achievements have been honored with awards of distinction by The Nan Foundation, Manhattan Arts, Artprint Magazine, and Public Art Network Year in Review.
