Clydebank Football Club were formed in the year 2000 and have been one of the greatest amateur teams ever since. Since they started the club has won the league 5 times (2001/2002,2002/2003,2004/2005,2007/2008) and the Scottish Cup 3 times (2001/2002, 2002/2003, 2005/2006). Clydebanks main rivals are Goldenhill Boys Club (Gowdy).
In the Year 2000, Jim Gillespie became the clubs first ever manager. In his first season as manager he never won anything and finished 6th in the League. This was seen as very good for Clydebanks first season and Jim was given one more year to see if he could improve the team.

In the year 2001/2002, Manager Jim Gillespie signed striker Sean Black from Glen Lusset and this had a lot of fans excited. Sean Black, Aged 10 at the time was one of the Leagues top players. The Manager also signed striker Ben McCulloch from Old Kilpatrick. However the Manager did sell a few players from last year. He released Bonnar Rankin and Shaun Falconer on a free transfer and also sold Michael Craig to Glen Lusset as part of the deal in bringing Sean Black to Clydebank. The Manager also signed Nicholas Ramsey from Whitecrook on a 2 year contract.
Season 2001/2002 saw Clydebank win the League for the first time. It was the 22nd of May 2002, Clydebank had to beat Clydeside to have any chance of winning the League and stop Old Kilpatrick from winning the League. Clydebank needed to win and for Old Kilpatrick to either lose or draw. Clydebank won the game 3-0 with goals from Sean Black, Jason Wilson and Kieran Gallagher. Old Kilpatrick drew 1-1 with Dumbarton. Therefore Clydebank winnig the League for the first time.
Clydebank also won the Scottish Cup in season 2001/2002 beating Old Kilpatrick 3-2 in the final thanks to 3 goals from Sean Black. Joshua Smith scored the 2 for Old KIlpatrick.

At The start of the year 2002/2003 the club announced that Jim Gillespie would be Manager for another year. However Manager Jim Gillespie angered fans by selling Midfield Star Kieran Gallagher to Duntocher, Releasing Defender Michael Staunton on a Free Transfer. He also sold Ben McCulloch back to Old Kilpatrick. It was the month of August and still no new signings for Clydebank. Fans started to get frustrated and angry at the manager. Eventually Clydebank completed the signing of Left Midfielder Adam Mullen from Whitecrook and Striker Gary White from Glen Lusset to partner Sean Black up front. They also signed Calum Morrisson from Old Kilpatrick and Andrew Cruickshank from Duntocher
However on the 6th of September 2002, Sean Black and Team-Mate Christopher McCluskey had a fight during a training session. Christopher became unhappy at the manager and wanted to play in more games. He handed in a transfer request and demanded to be sold in the January transfer window.
On the 21st of January 2003, Clydebank announced that Christopher McCluskey had joined Old Kilpatrick on loan until the end of the season. When Christopher joined Old Kilpatrick on loan, it sparked rumours that Old Kilpatrick Star Joshua Smith would be joining Clydebank on loan until the end of the season as part of the deal. However the Clydebank Fans weren't sure if this was a good move. Joshua had been one the Leagues top Goalscorers for a few years but on the 12th of October 2002 his Grandfather tragically died from Cancer and he was having a lot of trouble dealing with things. It was confirmed on the 31st of Januray 2003 that Joshua Smith had joined on loan for the rest of the season and would wear the number 10 shirt.
Joshua's first game came against Clydebank's rivals - Goldenhill. Goldenhill went 1-0 up thanks to a spectular goal by Russell McKillop. Clydebank made it 1-1 just after half time with a Martin McNiff Free kick. Loan Signing Joshua Smith came off the bench and scored a sensational goal from just outside the box to grab a dramatic 2-1 win for Clydebank. When interviewed after the game, Joshua said it was the best feeling he had felt in months and hoped the goals would continue to come. Unfortunatley 3 weeks later Joshua was sent into hospital and getting help for a mental illness which many believe was caused by his Grandfathers death. He never played another game for the club.
Clydebank went on to Win the League for a second year in a row. They Also won the Scottish Cup for the second year in a row.

In the year 2003/2004 Manager Jim Gillespie decided to stay for one last year but made only made 1 new signing. Jordan Walker joined on a Free Transfer from Yoker Athletic. Christopher McCluskey also returned from his loan at Old Kilpatrick but was told he would never play for Clydebank again and was Transfer Listed. Christopher Graham was also sold to Neverton Fc. Joshua Smith also returned to Old Kilpatrick after Clydebank manager Jim Gillespie decided not to buy him because he only played one game in 5 months for the club. Many of the fans felt Manager Jim Gillespie should have signed Joshua Smith and gave him more of a chance but JIm Gillespie said that Joshua was not mentally fit enough anf that was the end of the story. Clydebank did get some good news as on the 29th of August Nicholas Ramsey agrred a new 1 year contract.
Unfortunatley Clydebank never won any trophies in season 2003/2004 and Manager Jim GIllespie was sacked. This wasnt a shock to anyone as rumours were that most of the players were unhappy at the way Manager Jim Gillespie was treating them and the teams performances showed that they were unhappy.
The year 2004/2005 saw a big change at Clydebank Fc. Brian Hill became Manager of the club and he changed the team completely. Manager Brina Hill shocked Clydebank fans when he sold star striker Sean Black to Whitecrook. He also sold Daniel Morran and Matthew Moore to Whitecrook and released Goalkeeper Craig Spiers, Defenders Andrew Cruickshank and Callum Morrisson on Free Transfers. He also lost Nicholas Ramsey who decided to re-join Whitecrook and play alongside Sean Black, Matthew Moore and Daniel Morran.
However Manager Brian Hill did manage to sign a few new players to replace the ones that left. He signed solid defender Derek Mcnabb from Yoker Athletic, along with Midfielder Dillon McCann from Dalmuir Union and the big striker Stephen Morrison from DRumchapel United. He also signed Goalkeeper Grant Telfer from Drumchapel United. Manager Brian Hill also made attempts to sign his son Gary Hill for the club but Old Kilpatrick rejected the offer and said that they did not want to sell one of their best players. There were also rumours that Joshua Smith was about to return to Clydebank when he finished his rehab in the hospital but Joshua signed a 2 year contract with Dalmuir Union instead.
By the end of December there was 4 teams fighting it out for the league - Clydebank, Goldenhill, Old Kilpatrick and Whitecrook. On the 27th of December Clydebank faced Whitecrook in what was one of the best games of the season. Whitecrook were 2-0 up at half time thanks to goals from former Clydebank striker Sean Black and by another former Clydebank striker Ben McCulloch. However Clydebank came out in the second half and won the game 3-2 with Craig McCutcheon scoring 2 goals and Jordan Walker scoring the winner.
The January Transfer window came and Clydebank fans were again left shocked. Jason Wilson was sold to Whitecrook. However manager Brian Hill signed Steven Buchannan from Old Kilpatrick as a replacement. Brian Hill then made another offer for his son Gary Hill but this was again rejected by Old Kilpatrick. on the 30th of August it was announced that Clydebank had made an offer to bring ex-striker Joshua Smith back on another loan, but this was also rejected.
on the 16th of April Clydebank had the chance to win the League. All they had to do was beat Dalmuir Union and the League Trophy was coming back to Clydebank. The Clydebank player started the match looking nervous and kept giving the ball away. Clydebank then took the lead just before half time thnaks to a Gary White goal. However in the second half ex-striker Joshua Smith came backto haunt Clydebank, as he picked up the ball at the half way line he ran past Steven Buchannan, came in from the left hand side onto his right foot and smashed a stunning shot into the top corner. Joshua Smith ran over to the Clydebank fans with his finger on his lips as he silenced them with a spectacular goal, showing the ability that he has. Then in the 75th minute there was a controversial red card for Jordan Walker. Jordan Walker slid in for the ball but Joshua Smith knocked the ball past him and appeared to go down very easily but the referee felt there was enough contact to show Jordan Walker a red card. The Clydebank fans were extremely unhappy and they let their feelings hard as they shouted abuse at the referee and chanted "cheat cheat cheat" as Joshua lay on the ground. Joshua Smith was then taken off 5 minutes later with a torn hamstring which would keep him out of action for 3 months. Then in the 91st minute the forgotten boy Christopher McCluskey scored a dramatic goal to give Clydebank a 2-1 win and win them the League. It was his first game for the club in almost over a year.

The Year 2005/2006 saw no changes to the side at all. Manager Brian Hill made no new signings nor did he bring in anyone new. The team performed poorly in the League but did however manage to win the Scottish Cup against Dumbarton in the final. An easy 3-0 victory with a Hat-trick from Gary White.
Following the Scottish Cup win, Manager Brian Hill quit as manager.

The Year 2006/2007 saw another new Manager at Clydebank. Gordon Campbell took over as boss and signed defender Peri Daremas from Old Kilpatrick on a Free Transfer and brought back Matthew Moore from Whitecrook. He also sold Christopher McCluskey to Whitecrook, David Walker to Neverton and released Stephen Morrison.
In his first season in charge Manager Gordon Campbell won nothing. He finished 3rd in the league and was knocked out of the Scottsih cup in the Quarter Finals.

The Year 2007/2008 Manager Gordon Campbell began to strengthen his squad by buying more players.Manager Gordon Campbell brought back Jason Wilson from Whitecrook. He also signed Danny Campbell from Neverton, Neil Clement and Ryan Hutchinson from Yoker Athletic. However He sold Goalkeeper Liam Toye to Clydeside.
This was a great year for Clydebank. Clydebank were unbeaten untill the 1st of January when Dumbarton won 1-0 thanks to a lucky Free Kick by Ross Craig.
The January transfer window opened but it didnt look like Manager Gordon Campbell was going to buy anyone. On the 3rd of Januray the Clydebank players were left in shock as the news came in that former striker Joshua Smith had been knocked down by a car on Freelands Road. Luckily Joshua only split his head open but Joshua was then released by his club (Dalmuir Union) for personal reasons 2 days later.
On the 31st of January Manager Gordon Campbell offered Joshua Smith the chance to return to Clydebank untill the end of the season. However Joshua decided to join the team who were last in the league - Dumbarton.
Clydebank won the league on the 29th of April when they defeated Yoker Athletic 2-0. However Clydebank were knocked out of the Scottish cup semi final 3 days later after losing 2-1 to Dumbarton. The winner scored by former Clydebank striker, Joshua Smith who then ran over to his manager with a t-shirt under his top saying "DZIEKUJE ADA DZIEKUJE". He was then yellow carded by the referee for over celebrating and for showing a message that no one knew the meaning of.
However Clydebank faced Dumbarton again on the last game of the season and Clydebank Defender Derek McNabb was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle on Joshua Smith. Joshua needed stitches in his right leg.
At the end of the season Manager Gordon Campbell quit Clydebank.

The Year 2008/2009 saw Stevie Allan become the new Manager of Clydebank. Stevie Allan used to be the Manager of Old Kilpatrick where he won the League twice and the Scottish Cup once. Stevie Allan got Former Clydebank Manager Brian Hill to be his Assistant Manager.
Stevie Allan sold Peri Daremas to rivals Goldenhill and lost Martin McNiff to Professional Team Hamilton Academical. Adam Mullen was also released by Stevie Allan on a free transfer. Striker Gary White was also released because he had an ASBO. Many fans were already wanting answers from the new manager because he was getting rid of all the clubs best players.
However on the the Thursday the 25th of July Midfielder Ross Craig and striker Mark Bird joined Clydebank from Dumbarton. This sparked heavy rumours that Joshua Smith would join Clydebank because Ross Craig was his best friend and because he said that the Manager at Clydebank was "the best i ever worked with". However no one knew if Joshua would play in the same team as Derek after what Derek had done to his leg.
On the 28th of July Joshua Smith rejected Goldenhill and joined Clydebank on a 2 year contract. He was asked if he could play in the same teams as Derek after what had happened and he said " It was just a tackle, these things happen".
