US States called "Midwest"
[edit]Here, for my own use, is a list of US states called "midwest" by at least one internet user. Some of these users are arguing "my state is not midwest", but if they clearly frame it as refuting someone who says otherwise, they're in (since the person they are gainsaying placed the state in the midwest).
The list is maximally inclusive. For example, some sources do not suggest that they state they are describing is "in the midwest", but simply include the state in a midwest regional grouping of, for example, college sports teams or a professional organization. Some commenters distinguish "geographically" from "culturally" midwestern; either description is included in this list.
This list should not be taken to suggest that these states are in any sense "the midwest". Rather, the list suggests that the description of the midwest is uncertain.
