Subject Guide: History

[edit]

Besides the basics of what generally needs to be in a Wikipedia article (e.g. don't plagiarize, state things in your own words, use reliable secondary sources, no original interpretations or opinions), the guide stresses the importance of neutrality and representing all sides. History can have many perspectives that may conflict with one another. Being sure to represent the major perspectives equally is important, but don't forget to include underrepresented voices either. It helps to keep a neutral, factual tone, remembering that we are writing for a general audience who may know nothing about the subject.
