Hi,

This is Corntrooper.

Introduction

[edit]

My main interest in Wikipedia is, at the moment, in artificial islands, including fictional ones. After years of reading stuff in Wikipedia, the time came that I had to discuss in a 'Talk' page, so I made an account.

Motive

[edit]

I'm currently running my own wiki-type, slow-moving site, featuring artificial islands all over the world, artificialislands.org. This site, which will include original research in the future and hopefully will become a trusted resource in the field, is based on the MediaWiki platform (along with Semantic MediaWiki and Maps). It will largely depend on Wikipedia for information (always adhering to license guidelines of course), initially, in hope that it'll take off at some point. On one hand, I see this as an opportunity to give something back to Wikipedia, by questioning, editing and adding to its content. On the other hand...

Conflict of interest

[edit]

I will be tempted to add content to Wikipedia and provide links to my site, when the latter will feature original research. This will constitute a conflict of interest, so when the time comes, I intend to work things out with the community, so that Wikipedia's reliability won't be compromised.

Good faith

[edit]

If I break something, please show patience, it probably isn't on purpose. If I fail to follow community standards, please explain to me what's going on, it certainly isn't on purpose. English is not my native language, so if I come out strong or rude, please consider the possibility that it isn't intended.

No promises

[edit]

I may contribute more as time goes by, or less, according to circumstances.
