Johnny Toogood (born George John Alexander Toogood on 8th June 1941) is a retired jazz musician and music promoter known for the management and touring of bands in the 1970s and 80s, including Jackson Heights and The Beach Boys.

Early Career A self taught tenor saxophonist, Johnny was a resident musician at London's Marquee Club in the mid 1960s.

Following this he worked in the 1970s & 80s as Agent and Manager to a number of now well known musicians including Billy Fury, Marty Wilde, Spencer Davis Group, Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, The Nice, Billie Davis, Jackson Heights.

He was a Tour promoter across the USA, Tunisia and Europe for musicians and bands including Bo Diddley, the Beach Boys and Joe Cocker.

Festival Promoter He was involved in establishing the Palermo Pop Festival 1970-72 with festival founder Joe Napoli.

The festivals featured a range of International folk, pop and rock and jazz acts including stars as diverse as Aretha Franklin, Duke Ellington and Mungo Jerry to Black Sabbath.

Record Producer Johnny set up Stallion Records between 1974-76 and worked on 70s British TV music show Supersonic

Later Career Johnny transitioned into a career in the wine industry and now runs his company Unique Wine Safaris from his home in Surrey. Still touring around the world....but now exclusively to vineyards.
