                                                              "DAKAUT-BRAHMAN/BRAHMIN" OF INDIA

Brahman-Dakaut or Dakaut-Brahman is a Brahman caste residing mainly in northern India. The main occupation of this caste is astrology and that's why they are also referred as fortune tellers or Jyotishi.

                        Dakaut-Brahmans also take alms(BHIKSHA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhiksha) on the name of the deity Shani as they worship him.when they are asked about why they are taking alms on the name of Shani they said "To take alms or Bhiksha is a duty of a Brahman as written in ancient Hindu scriptures,that's why they are taking them.But why on the name of deity Shani they replied it was started by their ancient sage named "DAKA".Sage DAKA took first time the alms for Shani to cure"SHANI-DASHA" as believed by this Brahman caste. And that's the main reason why these Brahmans called themselves as "Dakaut".Because of the sage DAKA who is considered as a great renowned Brahman of his time and belongs to the lineage of sage"BHRIGU"(one of the seven sages of HINDU DHARMA).As sage DAKA is their forefather they are also called DAK-PUTRA .i.e. son of sage-DAKA and also called themselves as"BHRIGUVANSHI" .i.e. belongs to the descent of sage-BHRIGHU.

                         DAKAUT-BRAHMANS are using various surnames to represent themselves such as SHARMA,JOSHI,JYOTISHI,BHARGAV,BHRIGUVANSHI ETC.They are mainly residing in northern Indian states like PUNJAB,U.P.,Haryana,Rajasthan,DELHI.

                        DAKAUT-BRAHMAN sometimes also considered as a Brahman of lower stature in some region because they take alms for deity Shani and this is considered as their main occupation but their main occupation is astrology as they are professional astrologers or jyotishi,people has forgotten that in Indian culture every Brahman has to perform the duty of taking alms from the society otherwise he never considered as a true Brahman.But when Dakaut do that it is called a kind of begging that's a total contradiction to the definition of Bhiksha. As we all know in today's modern world word like alms  .i.e. Bhiksha is not as much prevalent as in ancient time but at least Hindu should know the real meaning of biksha and how it is related to the spiritual culture of India and Hinduism.
                         
                         Today Dakaut-Brahmans are progressing in every field but they are forgetting their conventional knowledge of astrology/jyotish- vidya.
                         Today various other people started taking alms on the name of deity Shani as representing or depicting themselves as Dakauts and started defaming this great prestigious Brahman caste of India and the real Dakaut-Brahman do not care about it at all.
