Personal Information[edit]

DPardoeWilson is a short version of Douglas Pardoe Wilson, my full name, which I use because it is a unique descriptor -- there are too many other Doug Wilsons and even too many other Douglas P. Wilsons out there.

I am an old guy, but not a very old guy. The first computer I used was a PDP-8, not one of the monsters from earlier days. I worked professionally with Pascal, not the Fortran I learned at school. I went to Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC, Canada, and have a masters in Linguistics and System Theory from there. At work I wrote software for satellite imagery analysis, taught it, provided user support for it, and worked on requirements analysis and design for various other projects including requirements analysis for Canadian Air Traffic Control System. Then I turned to independent work on computer languages and on synthetic languages for human use, especially non-arbitrary and acronymic ones. I have written long novels, e-books, available to read online or download from my website[1].
