Description of the contribution

[edit]

The project allowed me to understand how the editing on Wikipedia works and also gave me the opportunity to write information about my town of Verderio (Lombardy), where I was raised. To do so, I decided to focus on the English article about Verderio found on Wikipedia.en, where I verified that there were little or wrong information about the town (such as the population, the mayor,...). I then translated the entire "History" paragraph of the Italian article (citing the same sources and adding some links to other articles in the text) as main contribution, then I updated the info about the town to the year 2020, such as the number of inhabitants and the name of the new mayor.

For what concerns the heritage article, I've chosen to work on the English article of the San Michele Bridge, an iron bridge located near Verderio. What I did was almost the same as for the Verderio article: since I noticed that there was little information about the bridge in the English article, I once again translated the entire "History" paragraph of the Italian article, adding the same sources and links.

Citation and use of sources

As explained in the description of the contribution, I cited the same sources of the Italian article once I translated it into English:
