Vilnius Municipality Grigiškiai "Light" Gymnasium is a full-time, self-learning general education school in Vilnius, Grigiškės, Šviesos str. 16, which carries out primary, lower secondary, secondary and additional education programmes in Lithuanian. Office code 190661671.
of 1 September 1989 In Grigiškės, pupils and teachers gathered for the first time in the history of this town for a Lithuanian secondary school. Thanks to the great efforts of teachers and parents, after the independence movement began, the 2nd Secondary School of Grigiškiai was established by decision of Trakai District Council. It is housed in an old building built in 1953 and an annexe built in 1961. 792 students in grades 1-12, who switched from Grigiškiai Secondary School to Lithuanian classes, started learning at the school and 68 teachers worked. In 1993, primary classes were separated and a primary school was established. The school was growing rapidly. In 1995, a new school was started to be designed on the basis of the Eastern Lithuania Foundation, and in 1996 a new school was built. In April 1998 , the school was given the name "Light", and in September a new annex was transferred, which is equipped with 12 classrooms, a teachers' room, a computer science cabinet. Pupils in grades 9-12 have been transferred to the new corps.
2003 In December, a modern sports complex was built and put into operation, with two gyms, one of which is an 18x34-sized and 186-seat spectator stands and an electronic scoreboard. Physics, chemistry and boys technology rooms are located in this building. Students in grades 5-8 remained in the old school. The old building does not meet the requirements of hygiene and safety, so a modern, European-compliant 698-seat school building is being built. Since 2004 September 1 school uniforms introduced at school.
