Turn off's on Wikipedia:[edit]
  • A major one: Well meaning people who edit or compose an article using dates without reference to the year. How confusing is it to read years from the edit that on "the 5th of October" someone did something or something happened and two months later something else, leaving the reader guessing in which year it occurred? How - for f's sake - can that be allowed in a work of reference and why aren't those things picked up by the revision crew?
It should be made obligatory in some guidelines for editing that the year must be clear when referring to dates, and people would have to agree with those guidelines before they are allowed editing anything on Wikipedia, damn it! This is a major turn off to me because I have noticed it in several articles and it devalues them tremendously.
