The 2011 Carlton Rugby Super 7's was the third year of the Carlton Rugby 7's tournament,[1] however unlike previous years it was not contested by international teams but by franchises representing the various regions around the country. The competition was rebranded as the Carlton Super 7s to reflect the change. The competition was divided into two legs, with the first round of matches played at Bogambara Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka on 29 and 30 October 2011 and the second leg at the Royal College Sports Complex in Colombo on 5 and 6 November 2011.[2] The competition was contested by ten regional teams namely Uva Vipers, Southern Sharks, Northern Gladiators, Jaffna Challengers, Western Warriors, Eastern Eagles, North Western Blacks, North Central Typhoons, Sabaragamuwa Stallions and Central Kings.[3]

Each team was able to field up to four International players, two Division A grade Sri Lankan club players and a under 21 school player.

The ten teams played in two groups: Pool A and Pool B,[4] with each of the five teams in each of the respective pools playing against each other once during each leg of the competition.

The Central Kings were the eventual winners in 2011 beating Western Warriors in the final by 38-5 points.[5][6]
