Diva Tommei (Born 1984) is an Italian inventor and Entrepreneur. She is the co-founder and CEO of Solenica[1], a sustainable energy startup, and holds five patents[2] for the company's first product, the AI and solar powered Caia mirror.

Solenica has raised over over $1 million USD in 2018, mostly via the crowd funding site IndieGogo[3]. The first Caia mirrors is scheduled to ship at the beginning of 2019.

Career

Tommei's career spans Academia, entrepreneurship and civic organisations. After completing a PHD in Molecular and Computational Biology at the University of Cambridge[4],  Tommei was accepted to Singularity University[5] at NASA Ames Research Centre. She was a lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Rome Business School[6] and also served as the curator of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community in Rome.

Education

Tommei holds a PHD in Molecular and computational biology at the University of Cambridge. She completed her Master of Science in Genomic Biotechnology from the University of Rome "La Sapienza"[7].
