The Lancast is a hyperlocal podcast produced in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It is hosted by David Moulton and Daniel Klotz.

With episodes released on a weekly basis, The Lancast is available free via the Apple iTunes store.

Overview[edit]

The Lancast is a low-budget interview and conversation show out of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, containing discussion between a weekly guest and hosts David Moulton and Daniel Klotz. Episode 1 of The Lancast was released on March 30, 2009 under the name Beards Over Babies.[1][2] Klotz replaced Neil Hershey as the show's co-host on July 4, 2009, after twelve episodes.[3] The show name was changed from Beards Over Babies to The Lancast on August 30, 2009.[4]

The Lancast is recorded weekly and a new episode is available on iTunes every Monday.

The Lancast is on the blogroll of Tom Murse, political reporter for the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal.[5]

Notable Episodes[edit]

An episode of The Lancast with guest Ryan Mast[6] was featured in weekly podcast roundup on ReadWriteWeb, which said, "This is a great podcast to start thinking about how AR works and what it does in general terms."[7]

The Lancast recorded an episode live at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design[8] at the beginning of their second annual Designathon for nonprofits on February 26, 2010.[9] Officers of the college's AIGA student chapter, faculty advisors, and representatives from three of the non-profit organizations that benefited from the event were guests.

Max Phillips, co-host of the podcast Creatively Wired, guest hosted in Daniel Klotz's absense on April 5, 2010.[10][11]
