Nabiki:

1.1: Interested in getting engaged to a cute, well-travelled guy. Disappointed when Ranma is a girl. Calmly suggests that Akane should simply kill the bathroom intruder with her own hands.

1.2: Lumps Ranma over on Akane when she learns about the curse.

1.4: Corrects Kuno’s spelling. Condescendingly replies that she’s glad that he detests her. Tells Kuno about Akane & Ranma being engaged, which causes him to storm off and attack Ranma again.

1.5: Doesn't see the big deal with Ranma being half girl (as long as she doesn't have to be engaged to him). Tells Kuno that she knows the girl with a pigtail and Chinese clothes. Gives what she believes to be a letter of challenge to Ranma.

1.6: Surprised to learn of Kuno's attraction to Ranma-chan. Has already prepared suggestive photographs, which she immediately sells to him. Encourages Kuno to not drop his infatuation with Akane, and offers him several prepared pictures of her sister as well. Tells Kuno that if he wants a present to reach the girl he should give it to Ranma. Turns Ranma back to a male when hugged by Kuno. Tells Kuno that the ‘pigtailed girl's’ body and soul belong to Ranma, (Ranma immediately recognizes this as the wrong thing to say as discouragement), which predictably causes Kuno to conclude that Ranma has enslaved her.

1.7: Amazed by Kuno's and particularly Ranma's battle skill. Cheerfully admits to Akane that she's been selling pictures of her to make extra money on the side.

2.1: Tells Ranma that Akane is training in the dojo. Wonders about his twisted neck.

2.2: Goes through Akane's wardrobe to find clothes for Ranma to wear.

2.3: Interested in hearing the reasons for Ryoga’s feud with Ranma.

2.8: Says that Ranma should be quieter when sneaking into a girl’s room at night.

3.2: Calls Akane a klutz for injuring her foot.

3.6: Perplexed that Akane & Ranma will team up, since skating partners have to be in perfect harmony.

3.8: Doesn’t think it’s a big deal that Ranma was kissed by a boy. Spies on Ranma and Akane, but gets pissed when they won’t get affectionate/show her something interesting.

4.6: Finds the Japanese translation of the Amazon law book and reads out loud. Concludes that the Amazon law was created to trap men into marriage. States a low opinion of Ranma’s ability to ever get a real girlfriend. Translates Shampoo’s Chinese with the help of a lexicon, making Akane mad in the process. Comments that they really do need to know each other better after Shampoo tries to kill Ranma again.

4.7: Concludes that Akane is holding a grudge against Ranma for being hugged by Shampoo.

4.8: Surprised that Akane doesn’t remember Ranma, but remarks that she doesn’t seem bothered by it. Calls it a conditioned reflex when Akane nonetheless clobbers Ranma after he is hugged by Shampoo. Excited when Ranma decides to go to China to buy a cure and wants him to buy her something.

5.1: Says that she’ll tell Gosunkugi Ranma’s weakness if he buys her a CD player.

5.2: Helps Kasumi to look for a lost cat. Runs to find out why Ranma is screaming. Learns about the cat-fist training, but says she ‘can’t believe it’ and starts to put several cats on Ranma’s body, thinks it’s funny and checks how many he can hold when he freezes up.

5.6: Surprised that Shampoo has come back from China. Enjoys her ramen. Tells Cologne that she’s much younger than she looks.

5.11: Answers Kasumi that Ranma is probably setting fires in the garden again. Applauds after Cologne snatches chestnuts out of a fire. Corrects Kasumi’s assumption that Ranma is only trying to be strong and forget his/her troubles when the latter is clearly enjoying a fair.

6.1: Cheerfully enthusiastic after she is told that the family is visiting the beach. Bemused when Akane claims not to care if Ranma enters a competition to win Shampoo, but makes an effort herself to prevent it.

6.2: Considers Akane a ‘lead weight’ when she throws herself into the water to save Ranma.

6.3: Sees Ranma’s method of activating the Cat-fist as idiotic.

7.1: Happy about getting free eel teriyaki. Wonders if Akane is going to eat her bowl.

7.7: Takes Akane to bathhouse instead of waiting for Happosai and Ranma to finish, since she wants to see any potential battle. Cheerfully looks over to the (naked) men’s side and asks Ranma to keep his eyes on Happosai for her, after he tries to sneak into the women’s bath. Greatly amused by the ensuing conflict. Says “You think we’d come without swimsuits knowing you’re here?” to Happosai, which makes him mope, and that sometimes a guy has to manage on his own when Ranma is accidentally stuck as a naked male in the women’s bath. Likes to see and is impressed by Happosai’s martial arts techniques. Sarcastically explains to him that he scared all the younger women away.

7.9: Thinks Happosai’s revenge methods are so pitiful that it’s hard to begrudge him. Nonetheless finds him annoying and tells her father to do something. Finds it pathetic but workable to grovel and beg him to stop. Tells Ranma to sleep outside to let Happosai calm down.

7.11: Uninterested in Soun’s antics and pretends not to know him, when out with friends in the town, since he's making a fool of himself by being dressed up in samurai armour to fight Happosai. Doesn’t seem to care when Kasumi asks her what happened to Soun & Genma, but glances at the TV which shows Genma’s & Happosai’s giant aura battle.

8.1: Notices that Akane quickly switched between saying her ‘left’ and ‘right’ hand was enough to prevail in a fight, i.e. that she damaged it.

8.8: Tiredly tells a classmate to shut up when Soun is showing his battle aura at the scene of a school theatre. After Ranma turns vegetative from disappointment she suggests that he might wake up if Akane kisses him again.

10.1: She’s at the beach with her family and enthusiastically wants some of Shampoo’s chilled ramen.

10.7: Surprised when told that Akane has turned into a duck. When her father tries to marry it to Ranma she tells Kasumi: ‘What if that’s really just a duck?’ Thinks it would have been interesting if the real Akane had entered after the wedding.

11.1: Finds it strange that a dog is asking for her master on television.

11.4: Disdainfully looks at Soun as he’s chasing Happosai through the house with his battle aura.

11.7: Interested in the situation of Akane and Ranma being alone in the house. Considers Akane as the tough family member. Tells her that if Ranma tries to molest her she should clobber him with a mallet, but be sure to stop while he’s still breathing.

11.9: Enthusiastically eats new years Noodles. Contemptuous towards Ranma, due to that he never gives up when constantly beaten by Akane and gets depressed afterwards.

11.10: Sarcastic and contemptuous towards Ranma’s petty gloating as he’s capable of repeatedly beating Akane again.

12.8: Visits an indoor heated pool with Akane. Bemused at seeing Ranma-chan running with a cat on her back.

12.11: Wonders why Akane is wearing Ranma’s clothes at the amusement park.

13.4: Tells Soun that the Saotomes likely found it awkward to stay since Ranma can’t take over the dojo any longer.

14.1: Derisive after Ranma revels in his strength for a week and thoughtlessly destroys much of the yard and house.

14.3: Thinks it makes sense that Ranma would be unlucky enough to be faced with a giant cat, rather than a regular monster. Doesn’t consider the Ranma-Monster Cat confrontation as a battle, just a crying fit. Observes that as soon as there’s no cat in his face Ranma is his usual jerk self.

14.4: Baffled and condescending look after hearing that Akane accepted swimming lessons from the crazy principal.

15.1: Says that she sometimes wishes bad taste should be considered a crime, after Kuno sends a bust of himself through the mail. She’s utterly scornful at the prospect of Kuno being ‘the chosen one’ for the Wishbringer sword. Jaded look when it turns out that he was simply the 1 millionth sword puller and is proud over the accomplishment. She takes note when Ranma sends Kuno a date invitation.

15.2: Condescendingly tells Ranma that he’s naïve in thinking that a date with Kuno will go smoothly without groping. Takes note of Akane’s horrified reaction.

15.3: Bemused and asks Ranma if he wanted the small statue Kuno used the last wish on.

15.5: Annoyed that Ranma wagered and lost the whole dojo. Suggests to Akane that Ranma may switch over to Ukyo now. Makes money by working as a croupier at the dojo casino and helping to swindle children. Annoyed with her father for losing the Tendo living room when trying to win back the dojo. Interferes when he’s about to bet her own room. Since he can only beat elementary school students (and completely untalented players like Soun and Ranma), she repeatedly wins until he cheats (which she seems angry about) and she loses the dojo.

15.6: Instructs Ukyo, Akane & Ranma about the King’s weaknesses. If you slightly push up a card, he will grab it. And his expression shows whether or not it’s good to pick one his. Bemused when Ranma seems to have the same kindergarten-level limitations. Asks Kasumi if their dad has gotten better for the match. Wins back the house together with her sisters. Furious with and threatens her father after he bets and loses rooms in attempts to get back the dojo. Very frustrated when Ranma is determined to replace Akane and win back the dojo, despite his horrible skills. Impressed with Ranma’s face being so bandaged from his training that he can’t show any emotions. Doesn’t trust the Gambling King’s fake nobility and concludes that he must have a plan to beat Ranma.

15.7: Notes that Ranma’s training was useful after all, since it taught him to cheat successfully.

15.8: She’s curious about Ranma’s unwillingness to undo his pigtail and tries to remove it by force. She’s contemptuous towards his transparent attempt to divert her attention, chases him around the house and finally asks Happosai to stop him.

16.8: Happy about being treated to French food by Picolet Chardin, but is confused when he toasts her and her sisters as possible future wives. Shocked when Ranma gets stuck with a food bill of 100,000 Yen. Angry and annoyed with her father when he recognizes the name, and demands an explanation. Tells Soun to fix his own mess. She’s sarcastic about Ranma’s silly grudge towards Picolet.

16.9: Jealous that Ranma is able to gorge herself on French cuisine (in reality she’s starving).

16.11: Helps Soun look through Happosai’s martial arts scrolls. Tells Happosai to be quiet, since he probably stole them all anyway. She thinks the martial arts dining champions look like Lovecraftian monsters.

17.3: Concludes that Ranma set the dining competition at school because he/she wants to avenge his/her public defeat.

17.5: Revealed that Nabiki steals most of her wardrobe, CDs, beauty products, books etc from Akane and is unconcerned about destroying and throwing them away. Casually goads Akane through apologizing to Ranma about her violent sister, ‘unmindful’ that she was the cause of making her upset. She attempts to lump over all responsibility for defusing the situation to Ranma. Tells Akane that she and Ranma made fun of her separately. She’s unflappable when falling from the balcony and being saved by Ranma. Plays on Akane’s reaction by stating that it must look bad that he chose to save her over his own fiancée. Gleefully takes advantage after a hurt Akane makes a thoughtless and insincere statement that Ranma should be Nabiki’s fiancé if he likes it so much.

17.6: Spreads around brochures about her and Ranma’s engagement, to bother Akane enough to buy him back (through Kuno and resumed morning attacks), but feigns innocence. Might not have considered the problems of being engaged to Ranma (attacked by crazed, murderous suitors). Tells Ukyo that her melodramatic reliance on force is unnecessary, when Nabiki is willing to sell him as a husband for 6000 Yen. Auctions him to Ukyo and Kodachi, but is disappointed in the low bids. Nervous when Shampoo and Kodachi decide to kill her instead, but turns calm when Ranma takes all blows for her, and tries to sweet-talk him into always doing so, unconcerned about his injuries. Tells Kasumi that she intends to sell the dojo and play for the rest of her life. Kasumi reveals that she and Akane tend to fight a lot. When Ranma tells her that this is her fault and wants to break up she unsuccessfully tries to goad him through the usually reliable ‘So you’re saying that you love Akane then?’ and, when that fails, through convincingly and sadistically play-acting that she’s in love with him.

17.7: Enjoys making Ranma flustered and torments her sister through pretending open affection for him. Cheerful at seeing a furious Akane be ‘popular’ and attacked again every morning. Successfully manipulates Ranma into not breaking up with her, and feel guilty and compassionate, through faked love, tears and girlish melodrama. Sells 5-photo sets of an undressed Ranma-chan to several schoolboys for 3000 Yen apiece, but despite that Ranma saw her in action, she manages to unflinchingly lie that they are strictly personal love mementos. Rents out Ranma to Ukyo and various sports teams for 1000 Yen an hour. She cheerfully taunts Akane after seeing her depressed, offers to sell Ranma back for 2000 Yen, and thinks it shouldn’t be a big deal for Akane to ‘just’ tell Ranma that she loves him.

17.8: Beaming and laughing loudly when told that Akane thought she was serious, but is bemused and amused when Akane doesn’t want to think she’s twisted and cruel enough to fake such a convincing confession. Gleefully torments Akane by snuggling Ranma, offering to take a bath together, feeding him dinner, and simulating sounds of sexual foreplay. Considers Akane ridiculously easy to manipulate. Haughtily and smugly declares that she’ll continue doing this forever unless Akane buys him back for 5000 Yen.

17.9: Worried about being stuck with Ranma after it looks like they’ve broken up for real. Offers him to break up for a 5000 Yen ‘consolation fee’. Smugly asks him to kiss her ‘to prove his love’, fakes tears and accuses him of playing with her feelings, when he predictably can’t, and wants 6000 Yen instead. Admits to Kasumi that she’s just tormenting Ranma for fun, and that she’s completely unafraid of him since he’s a clueless coward with women. When Ranma seems to get attached by inviting her to a ‘date’ (silly revenge scheme), she decides that it’s too much work and switches it to Akane instead.

17.10: Greatly respects effort put into a well-planned revenge-scheme. Thinks she’s losing her touch for not letting Akane take the fall for her in Ranma’s plot. Runs over Ranma with her bicycle, leads him on a chase and fools him into being hit by a tree stem. Nervous when she suspects he’ll beat her up, but manages to unsettle him through another straight-faced ‘love declaration with added tears’. Feels triumphant about being so cute that she can constantly pull off these stunts. Utterly dumbfounded, but quickly takes advantage, after she learns about his stupid concept of revenge.

17.11: Views cursed paintings at a carnival, and assumes Ranma & Genma have got lost. Thinks that an ugly panda spirit/painting is just crappy, not abstract, art. Amused when Ranma dates the spirit. Thinks Ranma is indecisive as usual for not imprisoning the lonely spirit. Amused when the spirit is sealed together with a distorted drawing of Ranma.

19.1: At the beach with her family and wonders where Ranma is. Swindles an amnesiac Kuno of 5000 Yen, but immediately regrets not making it 10000:- instead. Uses Genma as a shield and tells Ranma to do something about Kuno when the latter’s new technique creates strong winds and spreads around watermelon pieces.

19.2: Surprised as ‘little Kuno’ has turned into a very powerful fighter and sarcastic about his sudden popularity with girls. Observes that being on an island with lots of watermelons will be tough on Ranma, given Kuno’s new move.

19.4: She wonders why Ranma is unloading luggage in his room.

19.6: Sarcastic about Ranma’s complications with Ukyo. Makes up a lie of Akane and Ranma already being married to make Ukyo give up and go home. Cheers for Akane’s play-acting and teases Ranma about being a hot couple.

19.7: Thinks Ukyo is overly persistent. Tells Akane that cooking for Ranma isn’t enough, they have to sleep together to convince anyone, but presented this option since she foresaw that they would be uncomfortable, while Ukyo would be suspicious. Giving her a chance to fleece some quick cash. Immediately offers to show Ukyo the truth for 1000 Yen, and as evidence sells a bucket of water to Ranma (so they can sleep together as girls) while Ukyo is looking. Tells Akane that selling out her family is always less important than making money. Eavesdrops to the door out of curiosity.

19.8: Thinks Akane would make the right choice in dumping Ranma, since he’s ‘wishy-washy, careless, insensitive, stupid and cheap’. Disbelieving when Ranma swallows the entire jar of poisonous sauce to repent, and contemptuously states that she’s surprised he isn’t dead.

20.1: Wonders why Ryoga is dancing in the hallway and laughing maniacally.

20.3: Cheerfully uses the opportunity of Ranma trying to be depressed (to learn the Shishi Hokodan), to make him accept being her slave for a month if he loses.

20.4: Condescendingly tells Ranma that he’s pathetic and trying to be something he isn’t, for attempting to be depressed by not eating, drinking or sleeping. Amused by Ranma’s unsuccessful attempts since ‘he’s full of hot air in general as well’, and tests if she can disrupt the technique by showing him Akane’s legs.

20.6: Answers Kasumi that it’s evident that Ranma is pretty unlucky.

20.7: Condescending about Ranma’s ‘cowardly’ fear of cats, ‘unfitting for a martial artist’

20.11: Takes the advantage to offer ‘help’ to Ranma when he’s incriminated as having a relationship with Kuno, by Kodachi’s doctored photographs. Takes his money, then gleefully offers to counter through even more vicious rumours, and reveals her own doctored photograph of Ranma-chan in lingerie, with the text “Hi! I’m Ranma Saotome, and I like to dress up as a girl during school break! Don’t I look cute?” Tells Ranma that it’ll go public if he hurts her. Thinks Kodachi’s doctored photographs of P-chan with Kuno’s head are spot-on.

21.1: Thinks Genma was a harsh father for constantly stealing his son’s food when he was small. Notes that Ranma remembers all of Genma’s thefts and never lost his hatred. Wonders if Genma ran away because he’s afraid.

21.3: Figures out that the purpose of Genma’s new technique is to sicken the opponent. Thinks his and Ranma’s fighting match has turned stupid and goes to bed.

21.4: Unwilling to try Akane’s cookies. Freaked out as they cause Happosai to get an X on his face.

21.8: Lies to her father that Ranma has fallen in love with Kuno to make him mad at and attack Ranma. Disbelieving and contemptuous about Ranma’s willingness to compete in being the more ‘loving’/inspiring cheerleader, and comments that he/she still despises Kuno.

21.9: Sarcastic about Akane’s lack of talent in martial arts cheerleading. Wonders if Ranma had a good time with Kuno.

22.2: Together with her family, visits her mother’s grave on the anniversary of her death, but shows no discernable reaction, then asks about Ranma’s mother and notes that Genma always avoids the issue. Curious about Nodoka’s identity, and thinks she’s likely a debt collector. Surprised when told that it’s Genma’s wife, and is excited at the prospect of finding out what kind of person Ranma’s mother is.

22.3: Thinks it was quite a gamble for Nodoka to leave Ranma’s future up to Genma. Dumbfounded when hearing that Genma promised that he and Ranma would commit ritual suicide if he failed to make Ranma ‘the greatest martial artist of his generation and a man among men’, and later when she learns that Nodoka intends to fulfil her duty if worst comes to worst. Concludes that Genma has been terrified due to Ranma’s Jusenkyo curse. Thinks Ranma is lame for pretending to be Akane’s cousin Ranko, and that he can’t keep up the lie for long.

22.4: Cheerfully entertained when Ranma-chan barely manages to balance a bowl of hot soup to avoid changing in front of Nodoka. Tells Nodoka that ‘Ranko’ looks very similar to her, just like Ranma, and that his main hobby is cross-dressing. Initially sarcastically unremorseful afterwards for trying to expose him/her, but then reveals resentment about that he/she ‘doesn’t want to see his mother’, feels depressed that her own mother is dead, for once doesn’t intend to make a profit from the situation and tells him/her to talk to Nodoka while she’s still around. Either feels sorry for Nodoka having a nightmare, or sarcastic about the cowering Ranma terrified of being skewered by her wild sword swings, or both in combination (impossible to tell from Nabiki’s ambivalent expression).

22.7: Curious about Ranma being ‘dumped’ by Shampoo.

22.8: Contemptuous when Ranma tells her that he’s only chasing Shampoo out of pride, and states that she only attached to him due to ‘obeying her stupid Amazon law’. Flabbergasted when this gives him additional determination to win her through using said law to his advantage. Casually goads Akane into thinking that he genuinely cares for Shampoo, after seeing him defeat the latter in combat, despite being aware of the above.

22.9: Thinks Ranma is silly for considering ‘confessing’ to Shampoo as a war game. Thinks he’s completely clueless about the entire scenario.

23.4: Comments that there wouldn’t be enough room in the world for two Happosais.

23.7: Helps Soun to care for Kasumi while she’s sick. Makes up an excuse about meeting friends rather than eat Akane’s cooking or doing it herself. She’s happy to see Mrs. Saotome visit, and finds Ranma & Genma pathetic in still trying to keep the secret. Touched when Nodoka offers to take care of the family, but immediately dejected and disdainful when Akane agrees to ‘help’. Instructed by Kasumi to warn Ranma-chan about the broken hot water pipe, not to be discovered by Nodoka, but notes that she’s too late and makes a sarcastic comment that he looks good in an apron. Notes that Akane keeps trying for Ranma’s sake.

23.8: Happy about eating the pastries Ryoga brought. Tells Ranma that it’s not very considerate to get in the way when Ryoga goes to such effort to woo Akane and bring her wonderful gifts, and merrily teases her little sister for being in a love triangle.

23.9: Confused and creeped out when she sees Ranma ‘romantically’ hugging Ryoga (due to an accident with a love fishing rod).

23.10: After hearing that Ryoga grabbed and ‘confessed’ to Ranma-chan (accidentally instead of Akane) she re-evaluates her previous assessment that he’s just a normal boy with no sense of direction, and supposes that he wasn’t wooing Akane after all.

25.2: Mentions to Akane that the collapsing Mt. Horaisan was the mountain Ranma and the others went to and, given that they’ve been gone for weeks without contact and several simultaneous ‘bad omens’, it’s possible that they’re all dead.

25.10: Eats McDonalds junk food she bought on the town, given that Akane was cooking (successfully this time). Thinks TV documentaries are boring. Vaguely remembers visiting Ryugenzawa with the family as a child, but wishes that they hadn’t gone then due to the uproar of Akane getting lost in the forest. Casually blames Ranma for making Akane ‘run away’, after learning that her sister succeeded, despite also blatantly avoiding to eat it.

27.1: Sarcastic about Hinako enjoying giant robot anime, gets contemptuous and annoyed when it looks like she’ll never leave, and finally surprised when it’s evident that the latter is attracted to their father.

27.2: Very annoyed and contemptuous towards Hinako’s clumsy attempts to fill the role of a mother in the household (horrible cook, trying to charm Soun). Aloof when Hinako calls the Tendo residence ‘home’ and constantly scornful when she stays around for dinner & watching anime during an entire week. Tells her that she should stick to teaching. That she’s just sitting around doing nothing. That they don’t need more of that, and that she has no chance becoming Soun’s wife, and turns smug and sneering after the child teacher becomes very sad and runs away. Suspicious when she finds Ranma & Hinako in an unintentionally compromising position. Severely worried when Soun assumes all responsibility for Ranma ‘forcing himself’ on Hinako and profusely apologises as the master of the household.

27.3: Very tense as it looks like Hinako will successfully propose and helps Ranma & Akane to barricade the doors and put up an ‘Extra mothers not needed. Go steal someone else’s father!’ sign. Tries to outfit Ranma-chan as their ‘mother’ in desperation and furiously demands that a confused Soun goes along with it. Immediately switches sides when bribed with 10000 Yen, declares Hinako her new mother and sets her and Soun up on a date. Makes a straight-faced lie that she knew Soun wouldn’t ‘desert’ their mother from the beginning, to get Akane off her back for ‘betraying’ him, despite all her previous displayed actions and attitudes completely contradicting this statement. Annoyed when Hinako keeps visiting.

27.4: Enthusiastically eats dinner with her family. Disbelieving and annoyed to find it interrupted by Shampoo. Saves her food from the table before Ranma falls on top of it.

27.7: Visits the beach with her family. She’s curious and suspicious when Ranma-chan is stuck with an ugly irremovable cursed swimsuit. Wonders what will happen if they don’t fulfil its wish to be complimented by the man who rejected it.

27.8: Stunned and suspicious when someone who looks like the young man conveniently turns up in present day. Dumbfounded and contemptuous expression when it turns out to be Kuno. Wonders if he’ll be willing to compliment such an ugly swimsuit. Unsurprised when he refuses and presents Ranma-chan with an alternative with his picture on it, then dumbfounded when he runs away in tears after it is destroyed. Weary look when observing Kuno’s oblivious unwillingness, and seems annoyed by his stupidity when he almost allows Ranma-chan to get drowned, but comments that ‘the idiot may have come to his senses’ when he runs after her.

28.4: Unconcerned with why Ranma is away from dinner, but after the floor collapses she jadedly concludes that he’s under the house. Contemptuous towards Genma’s pride in successfully teaching Ranma the move and blames him as responsible.

28.11: Helps to mop up Ranma’s tears from the floor to give Happosai his rejuvenation potion, since it would be pointless to let him die after going through such troubles. Curious when seeing Happosai’s rejuvenation in action.

29.1: Annoyed that Kuno and his phoenix are unable to move out of the house/away from Ranma. Surprised when the phoenix is able to see through the Ranma-chan disguise, and concludes that it’s fighting harder due to being a female seeing a ‘rival’. Saves Ranma-chan by knocking out (the completely distracted) Kuno from behind with a single a small mallet strike (Akane managed to effortlessly accomplish the same thing, so no super-skills are implied).

29.9: After receiving a love-letter, takes the infatuated suitor on a date, lets him treat him to lots of junk food, take her to the movies (while giving him the hand of an elderly lady sitting beside her) and buying her jewellery. Then ‘breaks up’ right afterward and has taken many dozen copies of the love-letter, which will be distributed unless he pays an amount decided by herself. Explicitly described as ‘completely heartless’/’having no maidenly feelings’ in different translations. Repeatedly feels observed and asks Ranma to catch and beat him up, in return for one of her 5000Yen photograph sets of his female form. Runs away while leaving Ranma the food bill, despite promising that she would treat him. After receiving a challenge letter she states that she doesn’t fight well, but has inherited the family’s martial art pride and can’t run away, but immediately uses Ranma as a pawn to handle it for her. She overlooks the contest at an expensive restaurant, while nonchalantly assuming that she can stick the challenger with the bill. When he seems rich, she immediately pushes Ranma-chan away. (Curiously she’s wearing a Christian cross around her neck) She thinks she can fleece this suitor for a lot of money and admits that she never brings her own wallet to a date. Kinnosuke mentions that she’s worthy of her reputation, but she seems unaware of gaining one. She departs from the restaurant and intentionally sticks Ranma & Akane with the bill. A snickering Nabiki again deliberately sticks them with the bill after buying a large amount of expensive clothes, and continues along the same path until the evening when she returns, smug about locating an excellent mine of riches. She’s apparently not deeply considering Kinnosuke’s similarity to her at this point. She’s somewhat curious, after she returns to find all her family’s belongings pawned, or claimed by creditors, and meagre savings emptied, but is blasé about their condition, and only concerned about having had a great time and being ‘taken advantage’ of. (Actually she didn’t pay a dime herself) She fiercely vows to suck the marrow from his bones on their next date.

29.10: Goes on another date, unmindful that her family is already selling their house, while her sisters prepare to become street-living flower-girls, in order to pay for it. She buys an extravagant outfit on Soun’s bill to look good on the date. Suggests a bet that whoever first spends any money will claim responsibility for all the bills for both dates. She’s completely unmindful about being surrounded by kindergarten girls collecting money for starving children, and finds a way to make money on them by presenting a machine with a chicken that snatches your coins. She travels to Honk Kong for luxury noodles despite Ranma and Akane’s protests. Then spends 100 Million Yen on an English casino and casually sells Ranma-chan as a slave prostitute to pay for some of it. She’s slightly curious when Ranma escaped from being sold. She rents the Tokyo dome to sing karaoke, vandalises and steals from the royal suite of the Grand Hotel for fun, explicitly stating that she’s uncertain of and indifferent to if she can win or not, but that she wants revenge for using ‘innocent girls’. She claims that he’s her ‘first love’ for being the only man who she hasn’t managed to fleece, and shows a tear to the wholly disbelieving Ranma & Akane. They’ve spent around 500 Million Yen/5 Million Dollars at this point.

29.11: She tries to convince Kinnosuke that she’s in love with him through overstated drama and tries to goad him into spending 10 Yen to celebrate their ‘love’. They’ve spent a Billion Yen at this point. She saw through Kinnosuke’s plan to make her spend 10 Yen not to crash and die with the helicopter, and prepared parachutes while sabotaging his own before he jumped. In mid-fall, she manages to still feign affection for him while offering him a functional one for 10 Yen. She allows him to fall to his death when he refuses to pay and keeps up the simulated completely straight-faced ‘concern’ while he’s dying on the ground. When asked to call for an ambulance she expertly copies his ventriloquism voice while handling his ‘butler’ mannequin and uses it to take 10 Yen from his pocket. She briefly shows a triumphant, bloodthirsty grin while dialling the number, expecting to win the battle, but is shocked as she accidentally dialled the free ‘911’ number out of old habit. She regrets that her usual miserliness led into weakness, but quickly adapts and claims the 10-Yen as consolation/’alimony’. She’s saddened and cries afterwards for not making it a bet of 10,000 Yen, since she only got 10 Yen to show for her troubles (beyond all the clothes and other presents).

30.2: Eager/curious to meet Ryoga’s girlfriend, and surprised that he was such a ‘smooth player’.

30.7: Highly amused when Ranma-chan is forced to date Kuno stuck inside a cherry tree (to get rid of a curse binding them together) and shares the same drink after having her body hammered below the ground. Thinks that it doesn’t take a strong spirit to possess Kuno’s mind.

30.8: Happy to see ‘auntie Saotome’.

31.3: Contemptuous towards Ranma-chan and thinks it’s to be expected that the latter would give up her breast-prints to Happosai & Rakkyosai.

31.6: Thinks the magic ‘umbrella of love’ is a ‘romantic load of bull’. Under its influence she expresses surprise to suddenly find Kuno ‘wonderful’ and wants 1000 Yen to become his girlfriend. Immediately disgusted afterwards. Comment by Akane that it was lucky that she didn’t write up the usual legally binding contract. Grudgingly admits that it may be the real thing. Incredulous about Akane’s transparent lie that she ‘accidentally’ threw a table to knock away the umbrella from Ranma & Ukyo. Jaded, ‘this is too stupid’ expression when Ranma and Kuno accidentally share it and get affectionate. Contemptuous when Ranma and Akane get embarrassed under the broken umbrella, but sings a song on the way home implying that she enjoys watching all the complicated tense relations/spectacles surrounding her.

31.9: Frightens her superstitious little sister by telling the latter about the cursed doll said to live at the inn they’re visiting. Impatient and wants to start dinner without Akane, then angrily derides her for being late. She’s derisive towards ‘Akane’ for falling from the balcony, but eventually notices that something is wrong.

31.10: Curious and spies on Ranma and (possessed) Akane’s romantic/sexual progress, together with Soun & Genma. Afterwards remarks that it was weird to see ‘Akane’ trying to seduce Ranma like that.

32.1: Curious about the strange Rouge. She’s contemptuous and disbelieving towards Taro’s attempts to explain his version of events, and annoyed when the latter pointlessly increases their repair bills by destroying a wall.

32.2: Concerned that ‘Asura’ is staying with them until the matter with Taro is settled.

32.3: Annoyed with Rouge for trying to avoid blame in making holes in the house, but doesn’t help Akane to repair any damage. Weary about the constant trouble caused by Rouge/’Asura’. Surprised that Taro would ‘save’ Rouge from falling to her death. Thinks both Taro and Rouge have major attitude problems.

32.4: Sarcastic when Soun gets sad about the house-damages of seeing the ‘power of a god of fighting’ in action, and again when Taro and Ranma’s ‘friendship’ only lasts 5 seconds.

32.5: Annoyed by Taro’s split loyalties. Thinks he’s an idiot for holding on to a frying pan when assaulted with lightning.

32.9: Impressed that the battle-dougi is so strong that even Ranma initially can’t get a hit in.

32.10: Spies on Ranma & Akane’s romantic moment, hoping that it will get ‘juicy’. Surprised/interested when Akane severely clobbers Ranma even without the suit. Sarcastic when Soun is ignorant about his fault in making her upset. Continues to spy and is uncertain of Kasumi’s assessment that they’re fighting because they like each other.

32.11: She states that it would be a bad thing for Ranma to ‘hit’ Akane (in self-defence after being relentlessly assaulted while fighting strictly through restraining tactics) on top of ‘toying with her feelings’. She’s surprised when Ranma manages to prevail.

33.2: Happily treated to dinner by her father, together with the rest of her family (-Kasumi). Disbelieving that Kasumi could have turned upset, but after seeing the mess at home she concludes that they must have made the latter furious by leaving her out and not eating her dinner. She helps in the preparation to cheer Kasumi up by making some tea, but immediately leaves Akane to go on a trip, after the latter accidentally breaks both the microwave and their sister’s favourite cup. She casually/gleefully chooses Ranma as a sacrifice to tie up, for Kasumi to take out her anger on, and is unconcerned if he’ll turn out all right, but decides to flee the scene of the crime after it looks like Kasumi is strangling him. When it turns out to be a misunderstanding she blames the others for ‘saying that she was mad’ and determinedly blames Ranma when it looks like Kasumi might get mad for them breaking her sweater and favourite cup. She finds it profound when Kasumi admonishes him in the gentle manner of a mother to a baby.

33.3: Shocked/suspicious of Ranma’s assertion that Ryoga has a small child (actually Ryoga turned to childhood), and ‘didn’t think Ryoga had it in him’, but is unsurprised when hearing that it’s ‘Ryoga’s brother’. Observes that the boy isn’t happy about being hugged by her father. She’s surprised/suspicious about seeing a child Ranma.

33.5: She briefly watches the ‘aging mushrooms’ for Akane (who is trying to hide them from Ranma’s & Ryoga’s constant destructive fighting). She later thinks that Akane is surprisingly sneaky.

34.1: She cheerfully spends all her father’s remaining money by buying expensive clothes for herself, and is oblivious/unconcerned when Soun gets upset. After learning that the Bean-Gun plant attacks anyone who has an angry face, she takes the opportunity to tell Akane that she wrecked one of the dresses she took for herself, so the latter gets knocked out. She’s condescending towards Ranma and Akane’s lack of facial control. Akane states that Nabiki has a bank account and shares (but apparently only uses Soun’s). Nabiki also has a very large jar filled with 1-Yen coins, where she hides some of her revealing Ranma-chan photographs. She makes up a plan to distract/get rid of the plant by making pepper-filled oni-face balloons, but the coughing only gets Soun, Ranma & Genma further blasted.
