David Ray Woods (born August 21, 1967) is a Charismatic American pastor, teacher, singer, author, and radio host. He has preached to crowds around the world in meetings, revivals, conferences and lectures both in person and on television. According to the official website for David Woods Ministries, David Woods pioneered the only 4 hour, middle of the night, LIVE, radio prayer broadcast. The broadcast is heard nightly and is heard on over 100 am and fm broadcast radio stations within the continnental United States. Heard nightly from 1am-5am east coast time and from 10pm-2am west coast time delivered on the Unity 3000 Satellite systems platform and heard through KNLB Network via GloryStar Network.

Woods Radio ministry, which begin 2011, continues to air nationally. The nightly broadcast is heard LIVE each weeknight in homes and jails and prisons within the United States of America as well as over the Internet at www.prayamericalive.com

Early Life Woods was born in Portland, Oregon, to Lonnie Ray Woods and Frances Marie Rasmussen. His father was reared Church of Christ and his mother was reared Luthern within the Missouri Synod in Portland, Oregon. As a family they experienced the hieght of the Charismatic Renewal days and quickly became apart of a fast growing fellowship known as the Foursquare Gospel with their home church being known as East Hill Foursquare Church in Gresham, Oregon a suburb of eastern Portland, Oregon.

At the age of 8 David was deathly ill with terminal asthma. He was hospitalized at Woodland Park Hospital in North Portland with no chance of recovery. A visiting young evangelist came to visit Portland and was a special speaker with the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. The speaker was a young man known as Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn prayed over David and David fell under the power of the Holy Spirit seven times. On the seventh time, David came up with complete healing in his lungs. He has not been in an overnight stay at a hospital since. David considers it to be a real healing of the Lord through Benny Hinn's young ministry.

David's mother started the singing group called the Woods Kids. A singing quartet of four young voices consisting of his younger siblings. David, Samuel, Rebecca and Sarah. Their singing started out in Nursing homes and churches, then televison (CBS Portland) and Radio (KPDQ). A visiting minister named, Dr Nora Lam Sung visiting Portland, Oregon would soon change their lives forever. Nora Lam, a powerful Chinese Evangelist came to Hope Presbyterian Church where the local pastor wanted us to meet her and prayerfully consider accompaning her on her missions trip to Asia (1980). Nora was enthusiastic as her puppet ministry from Seattle could not make it that year and they were preparing to conduct crusades in Taiwan of crowds nearing 12,000 children. We agreed that if the Lord provided the 12,000.00 necessary to go on the trip, we would go. We applied for passports and miraculously a radio staton owner from the east coast heard of the need for the WOODS KIDS. He overnighted a cashiers check for $12,000. and the WOODS KIDS were on their way to visit Asia which would be their first of five yearly trips.
