DW Gibson is an American journalist[1], author, radio host[2] and cultural critic[3][4]. He shared a 2016 ELLIE Award for his work on "One Block" for New York Magazine[5]. He has published two oral histories: Not Working: People Talk About Losing a Job and Finding Their Way in Today's Changing Economy and The Edge Becomes the Center: An Oral History of Gentrification in the 21st Century'[6], which won the inaugural Brooklyn Eagle Prize[7] and a 2016 Gold Medal from the Independent Publisher Association[8]. He has lectured at Columbia University[9] and Stanford University, among other institutions.
