Reason for joining Wikipedia: University student contributing to Wikipedia as part of my Communications course.

Before taking this course I thought I might be able to get through life without leaving my personal footprint on the internet. However I am learning that this might not be a goal worth having. We live in an age where we can communicate with the entire globe, thus making the world my community and so in order to be an active citizen in my community I must not shy from sharing my knowledge online. By participating and contributing to the Wikipedia movement I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how media and communication can impact my life as well as society as a whole.
