Evaluate the drafted changes

[edit]

Lead:

[edit]
  • Has not been updated by peers, but a new lead section was created compared to the original wikipedia article.
  • I would specify if these base pairs are either DNA or RNA nucleotides. Also, can these exist in other types of prokaryotes?
  • Missing brief description of article's major sections, but first sentence is very concise and is a good starting sentence for the article.

Content:

[edit]
  • I don't think any new information was added to this draft, since it looks to be very similar to the original wikipedia post.
  • I do like that sections like function and bacterial conjugation were added with subsections, such as structure and synthesis. I think if the group adds more details to those sections their next draft will have a really strong structure.
  • The see also section is also a great addition to the original article, since that shows how this topic ties in with other wikipedia articles.
  • There is no content that doesn't belong, but I would definitely add more details to the synthesis and bacterial conjugation sections. It might also be helpful to include an image in your article if possible to further illustrate your points.

Tone/Balance:

[edit]
  • I don't think there was that much new text added to the article, but overall the article has an appropriate tone for a wikipedia article. So I would recommend the additional information that will be added follows the same style.

Sources/References:

[edit]
  • The new source that was added looks like a great addition, but I would double check the citation since there seems to be an error message regarding the date.
  • The added hyperlinks work well

Organization:

[edit]
  • It looks like you have a good idea for the structure of your paper. Your lead should probably be a bit more detailed and could summarize the additional information you will include in the other sections.
  • Everything appears well-organized and written

Images/Media/New Article = not applicable

Overall impressions:

[edit]
  • Overall, I would say that this article still needs additional content and editing. I would particularly recommend fleshing out the sections outlined within this draft.
  • Good luck with the project!
